Vikings, Cowboys, Bears, Eagles and Broncos. In that order...

I don't really see the Lions or the 49ers, but I suppose you had to get to a total of 5 somehow. In past years I wouldn't have said that the Bears were all that much of rivals, because I always saw the Vikings as much more of rivals than any other team. This year changed it, though. I think that Jay Cutler was the proverbial straw. I've always hated Urlacher, but Cutler has such an attitude that he makes me dislike the entire team.

The Cowboys are rivals for the same reason, because of their attitude, which is reflective upon Jerry Jones. However, I would say that the Cowboys are a distant 3rd for the same reason that the Yankees are a distant 3rd to the Twins. The Cowboys, like the Yankees, are universally hated by everybody that is not a fan. There is no middle ground with them. This being said, it is hard to say that they are a huge rival of the Packers, since they are a rival of the league.

I like playing the Vikings, the Lions and the Bucs when they are good. If we don't have a serious risk of losing, it isn't a great game.

I don't want the Bears games to be great. I want to see them and their fans embarrassed by how badly they were beaten. The '90s were great.

The Cowboys are just jerks. I don't care enough about them to hate them.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Living in 49'ers country, the 49'ers fans do not see it as a rivalry.

Being a Packers Fan I don't see it either. In the last 15 to 20 years the Niners have only won once against the Packers (Jerry Rice fumble with no instant replay). The record is 29-25-1 against the 49'ers but 4-1 in the playoffs.

The Lions are making a come back and it appears the viklings are going to be in the division basement for awhile. So they will flip flop.

It is going to take a few sweeps of the Bears to get back to even in the win/loss columns.

Niner fans are so fair weather. Used to be really loud in the 80s and 90s. Very quiet today. But during the early Favre years, there was a lot of hatred for GB here.

Clearly, it's Bears, Cowboys, and Vikings in no particular order either.

I'd just like to add that I believe the Falcons and Lions will be Green Bay's two biggest rivals of this coming decade. At least in terms of meaningful games played.

I asked my two friends today who are 49ers fans if they consider the Packers a rival of their team, and they both said not today, but in the nineties, absolutely.

rivals don't come and go. The Bears and Vikings are always there no matter which team is having the good season.

Rivalries have to work both directions otherwise it is just envy. Packers wanted the Cowboys to be a rival but I don't think Cowboys feel the same way. They have Washington and Phil as their main rivals Giants too.

It is just plain dumb to have a list of 5. There are not that many great rivals. 1 or 2 max.

I don't know if I agree with that. You used Dallas as an example and I'll stick with them.

Their rivals are Eagles, Giants, and Redskins. That will always be the case, especially with Washington.

However, during the 90s, Dallas and San Francisco was as heated as a rivalry as you can get. I dont think you can diminish that rivalry because it is no longer such. At that time, Dallas wanted to beat the 49ers more than they wanted to beat the Redskins. Today, both teams are struggling, so the rivalry is dead.

Same thing applies with Raiders and Steelers. That's not really a rivalry anymore. The Steelers rival is Baltimore, but at one time, there was no greater rivalry in football than Raiders vs. Steelers.

In away, rivals do come and go. Situations matter.

Colts - Patriots rivalry still gets said when you talk about the greatest, current, rivalries. They play eachother yearly, as they both consistently finish first in their respective divisions and have had some amazing play-off clashes.

As little as 2 years ago, they were bigger rivals than any of the teams in their divisions.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
