I like the idea of having a veteran backup that can put points on the board, but Flynn had the advantage of not having jack for film for the Pats to study... And are we going to make him ride the bench for the next 5 years? Unless there's a really juicy draft pick offer and someone Ted really wants to go after, or a nice trade deal to fill a gap in our team I think it's worth it to keep him for another year or two until he's fully mature then trade him away so he has his shot at a starting job somewhere desperate.

I'd love to see Flynn moved for the right price. I know he has value as a backup Qb, but they can be found. Flynn's biggest trade asset right now has got to be his age and development, he's 25 and has had time to study instead of being thrown under the bus like most QB starved teams. If a team wants to take a shot at a guy they see starting, its at this stage in his career.
Let him walk next year for basically nothing but a low end comp pick seems like a value waste to me, kind of like the Kampman situation a year ago, I would of loved to move him before the deadline for a pick.
Draft late and let McCarthy do what he does best, and although he looked sharp, we lost the two games he played in.
Plus of he has a spot start or 2 next season and tanks, he has basically lost all trade value, I saw shop him in a trade up deal or a late 2nd/early 3rd.

Almost no chance that happens. After Manning signs his world breaking deal the franchise figure for QBs will go through the roof.

Bear in mind that as soon as a player signs a franchise tag that amount is guaranteed for that season. As I understand it they can be traded and a new deal restructured but the new team must still pay the franchise amount that season, which no team would do for Flynn.

Also, I disagree with the title of the article. I don't think Ted did much to quiet the Flynn trade speculation. He just said Flynn was on our team - obvious.

In another interview with Vic Ketchman at Packers.com in answer to the same question he said Flynn was 'on our team, right now.'

To me it sounded like he would be open to offers.
