Thanks Wade and Illy, and all that have given me some positive guidence.
It's a good feeling to know that there are those that care enough to at least try to help, try to understand.
I'll get through this.
It's funny, it's not just one thing, but the seemingly "piling on" that's happening. We have 2 old cars. A 2002 Chevy, and a 1992 Pontiac. Both have over 230,000 miles on them. The Pontiac (the car my wife likes to take to work) broke down. We think it's the alternator. Which we replaced with a rebuilt last spring. Of course it only had a 30 day guarentee. So it's sitting in the garage. The Chevy has a serious problem with the timing belt and the gears which make it run. Before the Pontiac broke down, i took it to the local mechanic to see if it was fixable. He said it would be about $1400 to do so, and with the car being that old with that much milage, it probably wouldn't be worth it. My wife has to drive that car now, as it's the only one we have. So i worry that she will break down (it's over 40 miles each way) and be stuck on the expressway.
Add that to my AND her physical problems (she has the break in one of her vertabraes in her back) and it just sometimes seems like i can't catch my breath.
But what you guys (and gal) say does help. It gives me an outlit (other then my yelling at God) to at least "unload" some of this baggage.
Again, THANK YOU!
I'll keep on trying/trusting

I hate Thursday nights.. I really do this time of the year.

It is the only night I try and do something for me.. and me alone. Something as simple as shooting darts and getting away from life and the struggles the brew within.

I am too prideful and expect to much of my failing body.. all I want is to be normal for a moment.. to be me again even for a shortest of periods.

And I push it.. I push what is left of me and I hurt both physically and mentally because of it. Physically.. the pain goes away after a short bit and is of little consequence.. but mentally.. knowing that my faint pulse of being me, breathing as the person I once was and probably never will be again takes a heavy toll on the root of my soul.

And I sit here, stuck in the middle.. too prideful to quit and wave that white flag.. but too far gone to be what I have always been.. a rock.

It is the rarest of moments that I feel completely mortal... and then I reminisce and dwell upon a poem once read.

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you dont
If you like to win but think you cant,
Its almost a cinch you wont.

If you think youll lose, youre lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellows will
Its all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
Youve got to think high to rise.
Youve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Lifes battles dont always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

I know that tomorrow I will rise again.. take in that chilled air, buck up and roll through yet another day. But with it.. I will not forget the surrender I made of another piece of myself and strive to take it back next Thursday.

Then I struggle with the thoughts that I am shallow and think upon those that have a tougher road than I.. and how blessed I am to have all that is before me.. and I manage to balance it all and embrace today.

With that..

I said it once upon a time here.. but I wish to bring it back to the surface.

Embrace today.. live to laugh and see the sun shine down upon you in the now. Don't wait for tomorrow.. love what you have, change what you can and do your damnest to enjoy the ride.

Well, your dart hit a triple-20 on that one, Shawn.

+1 for the poem, too.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Zero2Cool (8h) : Johnson didn't make it until 2020. Ring 2023. 🤷 Personally, he should have been in years prior to Hall.
Zero2Cool (8h) : HUMP DAY
beast (8h) : Guys that have a good shot at making the NFL Hall of Fame usually get into their teams pretty fast
beast (8h) : Yeah, but is Kampman and the others in the NFL Hall of Fame?
Zero2Cool (8h) : Johnson was Hall of Fame, 2020. Should haev been in Ring a year later, not three years.
Zero2Cool (8h) : I could be wrong there though
Zero2Cool (8h) : Guys like Kampman, Tim Harris, Al Harris, etc all over 15 years. Hall of Fame is 5 year wait
Zero2Cool (8h) : I guess I see players in Packers Hall come way later
beast (8h) : Yeah, usually teams hall of fames are a much lower bar than the NFL
Zero2Cool (8h) : is it uncommon for Hall before Ring?
Zero2Cool (9h) : S Xavier McKinney named first-team All-Pro by NFLPA
beast (10h) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (10h) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (10h) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (10h) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (11h) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (11h) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (22h) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (8-Jan) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : McCarthy let go or not extended??
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Chicago Bears have asked the Dallas Cowboys permission to interview Mike McCarthy for head coaching vacancy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : The winners page that is
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : I was not hoping for that. It messes up the page lol
beast (6-Jan) : Thank you, and I was really opening we were going to get 4 or more tied for the top 3.

Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : Packers have $60M+ of 2025 cap space on paper TODAY.
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Missed FG into a Lions TD; that'll do pig, that'll do
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : That might be it for the Vikings
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Oh so the refs do know what intentional grounding is
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : didn't have guys in his face ... pressure makes difference
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Where was this Darnold vs GB?
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : BALL DON'T LIE
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : how was that not a safety? Goff throws it at an offensive lineman
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero, I thought that was a given! ;)
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Zero I looked through earlier and noticed the same thing. Bonkers year. I just wonder if beast put any money on games
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : I'm hoping for BLOODBATH. Pummel one another.
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : 8 people in pick'em would have won any year with their total lol
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : I'm rooting for the Lions to lose.
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : God help me but I'm rooting for the Vikings to...Vikings to...Christ I can't say it
