Well we just got Mia back from round 3 of chemo yesterday. She was pretty tired today, but handled the chemo really well. We do our diligence in keeping her hydrated and nourished. She takes a potasium pill twice a day, and we now have her on a small sedative because for some reason she doesn't always sleep through the night.
We have been struggling a little bit with her emotions as she is starting to get upset when her sisters go to activities and she has to stay home. Overall it is amazing to watch a 6 year old handle this situation so positively. Whenever I go somewhere, I watch how other children conduct themselves and I am unimpressed with how spoiled children can be. Maybe me being a hardass has payed some dividends for my kids. I had to offset their exposure to being raised in Disneyland from the other side of the family.
Anyway - three treatments down and six to go. Mia has some hair growing back on her head, which is peculiar, because her eye brows and lashes are gone. She's upset with that but the kids at school treat her like a rock star so we're fortunate she isn't being mocked.
