People have this idea that puberty ends in the teenage years. For some people, it does. For many people, it continues into the mid-20s. For a few, it continues into the late 20s. It's not uncommon for voices to continue changing over a decade or more.
Zombieslayer and I have extensively debunked this idea that he gained a lot of weight in depth. His weight gain is not remarkable. It's not even terribly difficult. If I can gain over 30 lbs in one summer (most of it muscle) using nothing more than a solid weighlifting regimen and drinking a lot of milk, despite not eating anything close to a high-calorie diet, an athlete with professional trainers and eating like a horse could easily gain 90 lbs in 3 or 4 years.
The bigger surprise is if he wouldn't have gained that much weight.
