Nothing is particularly new about spoiled rich young men treating women as receptacles for hire. All that has changed is the technology and the clothing worn during the treatment.
And perhaps the price.
I'm betting that if you had 24-7 fly-on-wall access to the current enshrinees in Canton and, yes, in the Packer Hall of Fame, too, you'd find plenty of such "men". The only reason we don't know all of them is that tbe technology of old didn't make that kind of info as easily accessible.
And should we really be surprised at such revelations about Favre? After all, who was it that that bastion of moral rectitude Mark Chmura used to hang out with?
It's sad, of course. We'd like our favorite athletes to be more like Bart Starr than like Bart Simpson.
But if all the smoke of recent months regarding Favre's behavior proves to be covering up real fire, we shouldn't be surprised.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
