I didn't see the article, but looking at their chart, looks like they're projecting that we got the top 7th round comp pick, just missing out on the bottom of the 6th.

Also potential 5th and 6th picks for OG Runyan and S Savage were cancelled out by the signings of RB Jacobs and S McKinney. And S Owens didn't sign for enough to count toward comp picks, which I believe is also hurt by them giving Comp picks for minority Coaches/GMs.

I'm going "Draft Day" , sort of for 2025.
Give The Browns the next 3 #1 picks, and a 2nd round this year for Myles Garret, and a 3rd rnd pick in 2026 and a 4th round in 2027.
The rest will work itself out.
Time to make a "Splash"!

The Browns are so screwed up the 3rd and 4th rnd picks will be at the top of the rounds.
Hell, you know Gute is going to take DL or OL in the 1st rnd this year, might as well take a shot at Garrett.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

1.23 DE with huge upside, in a huge sized DE and potential but isn't currently maximizing it, which Gute does chance the physical potential.

2.55 penetrating DT, which a lot of writers have going in the bottom of the 1st round, but I think Hafley will be looking for penetrating DTs, as early in the season, he appeared to be trying to get them one on ones to win in the pass rush.

3.91 Simply put, consistently one of the best pass blocking interior OL in college, year after year. Also, Georgia had him penciled in at Center, for 2024, before someone else stepped up, letting him stay at RG, but supposedly he has C versatility.

4.125 Long, athletic CB that gets his hands on a lot of balls. In zone coverage sometimes gets caught staring at the QB too much, and loses track of the guy in his zone.

5.163 I'm not a Mel Kiper guy, but Kiper certainly thinks Simon is under rated, as this LB is quite athletic, but it took him a whole to put it all together, and he had a dominant DL in front of him, so might struggle more without a dominant DL in front of him. But I think the upside potential is there for a 5th round pick.

5.176 Versatile OL which is right up the Packers alley, as he's started full seasons at RT, LT and C, plus played almost 300 snaps at RG as well. He MIGHT not have the athletic feet/long arms to stick at OT in the pros, but even so, he should be able to find a spot on the interior, as he'd be an athletic interior pass blocker.

6.199 I was targeting WR here, unfortunately they was taken in mass right before this, so I turned to an extra large slot WR (which they label a TE). At 6'4", and disputed 235 to 245 lbs weight, he certainly has TE size, but two seasons of over 900 yards. Musgrave doesn't tasty healthy, we could use another receiving TE/large slot to help fill in while Watson is out. Supposed has sub 4.6 speed, which is great considering the TE size.

7.243 CB that has been injured in two of the last three years, but that healthy year... he was dominant, and even in his injured final year, he still excelled strongly against the run and supposedly has had sub 4.4 speed. Assuming he scan stay healthy, he should be quite good on STs. And if he can't stay healthy, then it's just a 7th round pick.

7.245 LB was at a small school until his final year, but he looked like he belonged, smaller than some teams prefer, but he's been good in coverage which is key for some schemes. Low missed tackle percentage as well.

7.249 My Hafley/Boston College Connection selection... this C is fairly athletic Center with very good pass blocking potential and while he certainly tries hard to play physical showing grit, he lacks the pure power in his game to move guys much one on one in the run game. But he could excel with zone blocks. While the other OL that I mocked in this draft are versatile, I'd suggest this C to stay at C and not move around.

7.251 Two time all American NY State high School wrestler, and ranked 12th in the nation at Heavy weight. While also First team all NY State selection , he decided to go to Ivy League's Penn to wrestle. But while recovering from a torn ACL, and missing football, he decided to try to do both.

When Covid hit, he decided to take a gap year and interned at the Attorney General of Delaware's office. Later graduating with a Political Science degree. And going for his masters.

After getting tired of getting injured while wrestling, he decided to solely focus on football and became an All Ivy League player, including the Ivy League Defensive MVP in 2023.

With his degree in hand, he decided to transfer to Florida for his final year, which unfortunately, he had a number of injuries but kept attempting to fight through them.

I think he might be able to have a bounce back year if he can stay healthy. And wrestling background certainly helps, good size and brain as well.

Interesting, when I changed it to make the Eagles the Super Bowl Champions, some of the Packers picks moved, including Packers pick 251 becoming 257, which is the final pick of the draft, interesting 🤔

Re-sign C Myers, K McManus and some CB from another team

pff_mock_results - 2025-02-09T232955.820.png You have insufficient rights to see the content.

1.23 DT Nolan
Quick penetration attack, which is what I believe Hafley is looking for in his DTs.

2.57 DE Ivey
One year teammate of Nolan, Ivey is an athletic 6'6", 285lb edge rusher whom played for Georgia Tech before 2024. In 2023, Tech used him more as a DT, which didn't suit him. Large DE like Gute likes.

3.87 SS Emmanwori
Boom or bust player. Before TE Kraft, Packers had a trend of picking a ton of tweener players in the 3rd round and from 2011 to 2021 they all busted. But hear out Emmanwori potential.

Just turned 21 years old, 6'3", 225 lbs, supposedly runs a 4.38 in the 40. So we're talking about modern NFL off-ball LB size, with CB straight line speed. BUT, he's not overly aggressive in attacking the run/blockers, has average instincts and transitional quickness, but in the right see-ball get-ball scheme, he potential could be great as an underneath SS, Dime or maybe even Nickel against coverage TEs.

And this is how Hafley often used the rookie Safeties, underneath, with the FS and CB watching for the deep stuff, so I think it could be a good scheme fit. (Of course he potential could just be the next Isaiah Simmons and not have a good fit in the NFL).

Inverted cover 2

4.123 DE Jones
6'5" 285lb, based on his size, you would expect his run stopping to be better and his pass rush to be worse, but that isn't the case. Also at the Senior Bowl, they used him as a pass rushing DT and he appeared to do well in the role.

Then onto some of my more commonly picks players.

6.199 WR KLS
6' and speed, speed and more speed

7.230 OT Brown
Dismissed from Wisconsin after hitting teammate during practice, don't have details more than that. And has gotten injured more than one would like, but it's the 7th round, and his athleticism is GREAT for a 7th round flier.

7.243 QB Shough
Injury prone, couldn't stay healthy at Texas Tech or Oregon, 25 years old, but he's got the a ton of potential and looked among the best at the Senior Bowl and apparently ESPN's Louis Riddick has been saying he'll be the steal of the QBs in this draft. But it's a 7th rounders, and I think he should be able to mimic other teams starting QBs well.

7.257 LB Buchanan
Just a good all around player, is a good time in the 7th round.

UDFAs
Get Hafley to be calling Boston College C Drew Kendall, trying to get him to sign with the Packers.

Talk to QB Shough, and try to convince his college teammate WR Ja'Corey Brooks to join his final year college QB with the Packers

Kickers and Long Snapper to compete and have backup options that we know just in case.

And yet, we might have two of the more man coverage heavy teams in the division with Lions and Vikings, of course, that's assuming the Lions keep their defensive scheme with a new defensive coordinator, which might be a bad assumption. Of course, the new defensive coordinator has always been a coach under Aaron Glenn, so he might have the same exact scheme.
