It sounds like you have two problems with this thread: 1. Lynch didn't have that good of a game anyway; and 2. Even if he did, it doesn't cancel out his mediocre season.

To the first point, all I can say is that if you think 19 carries for 131 yards and a TD, including a fantastic game-clinching 67 yard TD run, is not a very good game, then we will just have to agree to disagree.

It wasn't just one great play, but even if it was, it would have been enough. One great play can sometimes define a whole game for a player and his team.

As for the second point, I mostly agree, although I will say that when a player delivers a performance like Lynch did in the playoffs, especially in a game in which his team was a heavy underdog, it makes up for a lot.

This thread was just intended as sort of an olive branch for those who, unlike me, thought Ted should've paid what he needed to pay to get Lynch. Personally, I'm fine with what Ted did, and I think he is one of the ten best GMs in the league, and maybe one of the top five. In fact, I have so much confidence in Ted that I don't mind if somebody praises a good performance by a player he could've acquired.

1) Show me where I said he had a bad game

2) I said he had a GREAT RUN

3) ONCE AGAIN ( like a broken record) Where the hell were all the Lynch supporters during the season

IF people were supporting him then, they would have EVERY right to shove him in our face....

But.........I never seen those threads...

Then they come here saying we told you so? After ONE GAME??

just plain sad

All the Lynch supporters? You make it sound like suddenly everyone is saying Ted was an idiot for not getting Lynch.

From what I've read, most are saying, helluva great run and it posed the common sense question of, what if?

Maybe I missed it, but who's saying "I Told You So!" because of that one great run?

What if?

Well, we would have one less pick in the draft. We would have had less production than Jackson had and 4 more fumbles.

I'd say we dodged a bullet.

You gotta look at the line play between the Seabirds and the Pukers before you can just swap out the stats between Lynch and Jackson.

Maybe ya'll have a better line (running) than the birds.. And if that's the case, your argument is moot.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone here. Just thought I'd inject some football logic.

Because Packer fans are well known to have a whole lot of that...

Seabirds Pukers - what are you, 5?

Brandon Jackson is a 3rd down back, a very talented one, but nothing more. We all know this.

For the record, so no one gets me wrong: I don't think we should've gotten Marshawn Lynch.

He had a good game though.

Forsette, the other running back for the Seahawks, averaged 4.4 while Lynch averaged 3.6 ypc. Last year, the 2 other backs for Buffalo averaged 4.5 while Lynch averaged 3.8 ypc.

I am basing the argument on the fact that Lynch can't get that extra yard per carry that guys running behind the same lines can. He also lost 4 fumbels.

Jackson is a better blocker, better receiver and doesn't fumble. Lynch fumbles once every 184 yards. That is even worse than Peterson was last year.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
