the only rb I wanted Ted Thompson to get is the guy we are playin against Sat.

the question I would pose is why didn't Ted Thompson go after Micheal Turner?

Yeah, why didn't he give a big contract to an unproven player while we had Ryan Grant on the roster just after his 2007 break out season.

The truth is that Lynch was gaining tough yards all day long to help his team build a lead. That big run was just the icing on the cake. Give credit where credit is due.

Yup his 3.5 per carry b4 that 67 yarder really did wonders :-k

Jacksons longest run of the year was longer. Jackson scored the game winning TD in the first round of the playoffs. Jackson has a better yards per carry average and if you add in receiving yards, Jackson is more productive. Jackson also didn't fumble like Lynch did.

Jackson was also on the roster and we wouldn't have had to cut another running back to get him for what probably would have been a 2nd round pick. Seattle's picks were going to be higher in the draft than the Packers. Our 3 wouldn't carry as much credit as the Seahawks. The 4th and the conditional were pretty close to our 3rd. We would have had to beat that with at least a 2nd.

Starks even had more yards than Lynch this weekend. He had 123 rushing, 9 receiving and 20 return yard. Compared to Lynch's 131.

That is even with that one good run Lynch had.

Now, what did we miss out on?

You missed that Lynch's amazing run sealed one of the biggest Wild Card upsets in NFL history.

Jackson's screen pass was also the winning TD for the Packers in a wild card game.

The only thing we missed out on was a spot on a highlight reel. There is nothing that Lynch did that would warrant and even up trade of Jackson for Lynch. Everything Jackson did was better.

Not as flashy, but more productive.

Anybody who said Jackson was bad should despise Lynch, he was worse at everything. Jackson cost us half as much in paychecks and no draft picks.

I believe you mentioned that, but failed to mention Lynch's. Yep, you did mention it, but not Lynch, quite QUITE interesting!!!

The biggest difference between Marshawn Lynch and Brandon Jackson is that Brandon Jackson is merely a 2nd round [strike]bust[/strike] disappointment, and Marshawn Lynch is not only a 1st round bust (Buffalo) , he is also a 4th round bust (pick Seahawks gave for him) .

imo :thumbleft:

I wanted Lynch here. But after seeing what Starks has been able to do, i'm not upset about it.
Starks has been big for us so far. Hopefully he will build on that this Saturday.

I hope Dexter's lengthy post wasn't directed at me. I'm no Lynch-supporter, I merely stated that you can't take out long runs from anyone's YPC, then compare them to someone else while counting their long runs.
