Yes, they got the victory. But does that absolve the team of the mistakes they made? Absolutely not. If anything, it raises the urgency caused by these mistakes. Sure, it all worked out in the end, but those very same mistakes could easily kill the Packers' chances in the next game.

Yes, the Packers won. Yes, we're happy about it. That doesn't mean there aren't some highly concerning things that happened in this game that could easily doom them next week.

Lets hope for more mistakes in Atlanta and all the way to the very last first round draft pick in April.

Bad analogy. Unless his 9,999th mistake bankrupted him (or put him in prison or whatever) and thereby prevented him from ever trying the 10,000th prototype of the light bulb, his mistakes wouldn't have prevented him from ultimately attaining success.

Any one mistake could result in a loss for the Packers, ending their season right there. Once they lose, there's no way for them to make up for that mistake or set of mistakes.

the hindsight on here is hilarious.

so at half we all knew it'd be a close game til the end...right? LMAO!!
i get that you guys enjoy analyzing the hell outta these games but each play got us a W whether you agreed with it or not. jones drop didn't cost us the game, letting the clock run out at half didn't cost us the game, nothing cost us the game...we won.
yay us.
sheesh.

Go.Pack.Go, you carry this torch after every narrow Packers win, and it's just as illogical after this close win as it is after every such win. Yes, it worked out in the end (though may I remind you the Packers required a virtual MIRACLE to ice this game in the very last minute).

"Nonstopdrivel" wrote:

Miracle? Wait, not you said MIRACLE. So, again, MIRACLE? What MIRACLE sealed this game because I damn well know you're not saying a Tramon Williams interception over a white guy was a miracle.

Let's hear this miracle, you freaking god damn downer.

The way Mike McCarthy handled the end of the first half was baffling. Why not at least TRY to get into field goal range? It didn't make any sense. It really bothers me that Mike McCarthy keeps making the same mistakes over and over again.

And 4PackGirl, just because it didn't cost us the game doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake, and can't be discussed. Lombardi was famous for getting onto his players after a WIN. He was always looking for ways to improve. And I think Mike McCarthy needs to really work on his clock management. It ended up biting us in the ass at the end of the Patriots game, and damn near cost us the win yesterday.

I agree.....MM should have at least tried to get into FG range at the end of the 1st half. That was a wasted opportunity.
And James Jones......who grabs a TD pass off the carpet, which was NOT an easy thing, once again drops one that was right in his mits. He needs to either quit doing that, or be benched. He gets open, runs routes well, then watches the ball bounce off his rock hands.
And Jennings needs to get more involved in the games if we want to get to the SB THIS year.
With all that said, we did not play a perfect game, but STILL found a way to win, in a VERY hostile stadium. There's room for improvement, and you can BET that they will be working on it all week.
We didn't "luck out" with this win, we EARNED it against a VERY explosive QB.
And when push came to shove, our D finished off the Eagles. No "4th and 26" crap this time!
I'm PROUD of our guys!

Christ, who's ragging? Is it OK to question a play call anymore? I'll be damned if ever going to be a lemming off a cliff. For the most part McCarthey called a pretty good game, he just typically went conservative instead of putting the game away.

"DakotaT" wrote:

Wow, DakotaT and I agree on something, lol.

I don't get this whole "we won, who cares" stuff. They missed two FGs at 40 or less. If Vick throws that last pass higher, its probably a TD and we lose. I think all some people are saying is that in the 4th he went conservative and they don't like it.

That does matter. We barely won. I loved the Giants game, he kept going and going and we won outright. I get we're on the road or whtaever, but is that mean he's going to do this in Atlanta and in Chicago too.

I would not want to count on the Falcons to miss as many opportunties as the Eagles did.

All I know is that I held off nicely until James Jones dropped that pass.

That's when the drinking started...
