I think everyone should be furious over the drop Jones had, though. That is inexcusable.

No they rather rag on Mike McCarthy even tho IMO JJ has costs us more point then Mike McCarthy

Christ, who's ragging? Is it OK to question a play call anymore? I'll be damned if ever going to be a lemming off a cliff. For the most part McCarthey called a pretty good game, he just typically went conservative instead of putting the game away.

I agree we kind of shelled it at times.. in another thread.. late with like 2 minutes left run a strong PA pass deep and gut them out.

Or the 3rd and short run with Kuhn that may have sealed the game early.

Still the killer was Jones dropped that would have iced the game.

I don't think you can ice the game in the first half. Sure would have been great to have that 7 though.

21 - 3 with the ball first in the second. Yes with us taking much of the deep part of the field and they way we moved the ball today. Effectively iced. IMO.

I recall that very Eagles team putting up something like 28 points in 8 minutes of a fourth quarter.

Not iced in the first half, sorry, just not true. I don't see how anyone can even say that with out laughing. A team with urgency is a dangerous time, in my opinion. And the Eagles showed how dangerous they are against what some say are insurmountable odds.

I agree. I think Philly must have felt that they were given a huge break going into halftime. No TD and we wimp out even trying to get a FG.

Fine you disagree.. but throw in an insult or dig for measure. Nice.

I didn't like the conservative play calling in the 4th. I was praising him a few weeks ago against the Giants but now?

We won, so I can't complain too much but still. It makes the games much closer and scarier, lol.

"all_about_da_packers" wrote:

It's how McCarthy operates, and frankly I don't think anyone should expect him to change.

We've seen it many times before (against the 49ers last year, against the Lions this year, as examples) where in the fourth McCarthy chooses to tone down the aggressiveness and run plays that run time off the clock (usually running plays).

It is what it is, I suppose.

Yeah, I am not crazy about Marty ball, which is exactly what he does when leading. At the same time though, I rather understood sitting on the 14-3 lead. As you said, the wind was swirling and 14-3 is a good first half. In addition, they got the ball to start the second half. It made some sense.

Overall, he called a very balanced game. This was a team effort.

I didn't throw an insult, not at all. I just don't see how anyone can say the game can be iced while there is still a full two quarters to play. That just sounds so unreasonable to me, especially 21 - 3 against a team that threw up 28 in 8 minutes in the end of a fourth quarter.

Sorry man, I just don't see it being something within reason. I don't mean it as an insult.
