Peprah does a solid job in coverage but the guy doesn't miss tackles. He gets the nod as a starter next year.

Peprah > Burnett

remember folks, this was Burnett's rookie year, no sense to claim him the future yet.

he has a lot of room to improve this offseason, provided the knee is healed.

Burnett is the future. He played well and showed some flashes of brilliance. If anybody is gone, it's Bigby.

If any team pounces on Peprah, they might end up with a Marquand Manuel type player. I like Peprah and he has been completely serviceable, but Ted Thompson didn't trade up in the third round to make Burnett sit on the bench.

Ted Thompson tries to have as many options as possible.

What he doesn't like is a bad attitude player.

Bigby was given a chance by the Packers practice squad guy who was sent to NFL Europe to gain experience. For giving him a chance ahead of other players and paying him when he never got onto the field for years the Packers want some payback for that investment.

Bigby isn't getting younger and can't improve much more on his current skill set.

Smith and Peprah are adequate back ups. Burnett will need a year to learn.

Ted will let players fight it out in training camp to set the pecking order.

I agree. Bigby is gone after this season, and I think he knows it too. Peprah and Burnett battle for the spot during training camp, and a contract extension will follow for the starter.

If you're saying that Bigby is a bad attitude player, I don't really see it. He made what most people think was a dumb decision looking for a bigger paycheck, but I see that as purely a business issue. Sometimes that stuff happens even with players who are good team guys. I think Bigby could be back next year, but he may prefer to go somewhere else where he has a better chance to become a starter. He no longer has a claim on a starting spot with the Packers.

I wonder if that'll be our foursome next season?

I don't see Bigby coming back. But for me it's an availability issue. The guy has been hurt for 95% of the past three years.

But he's also not going to keep someone in just because he moved up to draft him. You have to earn your PT, Starks' benching being a good recent example. I'm stunned that he held onto Harrell as long as he has, but he also wasn't starting even though he was a 1st rounder.
