In my opinion this guy along with Bishop solidified our defense this year. I'm just curious what some of you think about extending his conract to reflect starter money, and if that is done - what is Morgan Burnett's role going forward?

I really think Peprah and Bishop saved our defense this season when the starters went down, and in both situations, an argument could be made that they improved the position.

Or maybe Capers should be voted Pope of Green Bay.

I think that if we plan to make Peprah a starter over Burnett, then give him an extension with some starter cash, otherwise, we could use him for trade/draft pick potential. That being said, I thought that Burnett was doing well, but I think that Peprah has done better. I am not in the Packers organization though, so I don't know if Burnett has the potential that coaches often see but fans do not. I'd like to see Peprah back next year as a starter, based off of his success this year, because I completely agree that he and Bishop played a major role this season.

Peprah was good, but I'm not sure he's an integral part of our core (like Bishop and Tramon). I'd rather put that money towards Jenkins.

I think Peprah is a guy we keep. Maybe the last year we have Bigby in GB.

We keep both Peprah and Burnett. Depth is a good thing and a 3rd round rookie contract is very salary friendly.

Peprah will go forward as the starter, but he won't get that much money. Just like Bishop.

You just don't know how Burnett will go on from here. A lot of players make their biggest leap from year 1 to 2. For all we know, he could be starting again next year. It's very possible that he wins that starting job back in TC with some excellent, ballhawking play.

We'll keep both, regardless.

Yes, Peprah and Bishop have both toughened up the defense. There probably is no need to give Peprah starter's money, though--not unless his contract is up and some other team wants him. Burnett still has a claim on that starting job. Let them compete against each other in training camp. May the best man win.

Peprah is playing good but what is it his second or third year?

Burnett was playing good too in his first year. If this injurie doesn't affect Burnett's game, he will be starter coming next year.

IMO Burnett > Peprah ...

It's Pep's fifth year. He's playing good football. Such a great problem to have. I'll be happy with either guy playing.

I wasn't that impressed with Burnett. He seemed weak against the run. He seems to have good instincts and a lot of upside, though, so he and Peprah should be neck-and-neck in training camp next year.

I also noticed Burnett missing a few tackles in the open field. But I think he still has a bright future.
