From the perspective of the NFL, they are not the US courts. It is not their job to punish people for breaking the law. Their job is to protect the reputation and image of the NFL.

What Rapesandbuggers did was on his own time and not at an NFL function. What Favre did was with a co-worker. Exposing the team and the league to a multi million dollar scandalous lawsuit that could have repercussions up and down the line.

Since it isn't about which crime is worse, it is about what was more harm to the NFL. They are going to take what Favre did more seriously than Rapesandbuggers.

The NFL isn't supposed to get justice for the victims. That is the courts job. The NFL is going to use it's tools (fines and suspensions) to protect itself.

So to the victims, the Rape is worse than the Croc shots, but then NFL is going to take the Croc shots more seriously.

All Favre had to do to prove he didn't harass her was turn over his phone records. If they exonerated him, this would have been over in pre season. Since it isn't over...

She also may be more upset at being made out to be a gold digging tart that set up Favre with enticing him into doing this. She may want to clear her name. So the Favre fans calling her a skank, a bimbo or a strumpet may be keeping it going.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

I think there are more twists, not as many but close to the truth of Bretts end in GB, in this little story.

Favre Allegedly Asked Sterger for Masturbation Video

The former NY Jets employee who allegedly received penis photos from Brett Favre also claims she got a text message from the NFL legend ... in which he asks her for a video of her masturbating -- this according to sources connected to the investigation.

We're told Jenn Sterger received the sextual request back in late 2008 -- months after Favre allegedly sexted over the pics of little Brett.

It's unclear if Sterger has turned over the video request text message to the NFL -- which is currently investigating Favre to see if he violated the league's personal conduct policy.

Calls to Favre's camp have not been returned. Sterger's manager and lawyer have also declined to comment.

They were both working for the Jets at the time, correct?
I don't think there's anywhere where that would be swept under the rug.
But Favre has the commish in his back pocket.
If it was anyone else, it would have been handled months ago.
I lost respect for the NFL commish now with the way he chose NOT to handle this.

Five questions I want to know the answer to:

1. I don't understand why is sexual harassment in the NY Jets workplace is any of our business. Shouldn't that between Sterger, Favre, the Jets, the NFL, and the courts? I don't know about anyone else, but I don't expect to be involved with any of the parties in the forseeable future.
2. Unless there is harassment involved (and if so, see #1), why does anyone care about Favre's (or Sterger's or Rex Ryan's wife's) particular sexual kink?
3. Why should I care about any celebrity's sexual kink unless it involves my sex life or fantasies of same?
4. Why would anyone think Roger Goodell is anything more than a corporate hack?
5. What does Deanna think? (Not that this is any more of my business than #1 or #2 is, but I have to admit she's the only affected party not heard from yet.)

Kind of contradicting there.

Well, but it's sort of understandable...Deanna is still a pretty hot babe. Still meets the "bet she looks really good in a little black dress" test.

Sterger, Favre, Ryan, et al. None of these do.

Treating celebrity babes as objects of interest is different.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Wade, answer to question #1 is: Because he is a public figure, that signed a contract to not do those kinds of things. Once they got let out into public knowledge, it became the fan's business.
That's how i see it, at least.
