This is part of MM's pattern. Light the world on fire during the preseason, win 3 of the first 4 games, then find your way to .500 at midseason. At this point, they come to jesus, right the ship and begin to contend. HOWEVER, along this winning streak that they cobble together at the end of the season they always have some weird humiliating seemingly back breaking loss. That was this game. The next week, they come back to as underdogs to beat a team no one thought they'd have a chance against.
So yeah, I'm picking us to beat New England. If not, we'll come damn close. It will be a tough, hard fought game. Our team will look very good.
Not saying we'll make the playoffs. But SOMETHING will happen to give us a shot. That, I guarantee. So don't despair Packers fans. The fat lady hasn't sung yet. It ain't over till it's over, and there's plenty of football yet to be played.
MARK IT DOWN!

I wouldn't be surprised. Even with Flynn. With Rodgers questionable, the game plan is going to be stripped down. There are going to be many more short routes, with a long option instead of the 3-5 Wr running 15 yards deep. It will look like NE playing NE offensively with the dump offs.

Defensively, we need to be aggressive. Can't sit back in zone and let Brady pick his shots. He needs to be pressured, and we need to disrupt the WR off the line. The secondary is the healthiest part of the defense. Let use them more.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Who cares what people think? I certainly don't. It doesn't affect how they will / won't make the playoffs.

Even if the Packers lose to the Patriots . . .

. . . as long as they beat the New York Giants AND the Chicago Bears . . .

. . . AND the New York Giants beat EITHER the Philadelphia Eagles OR the Washington Redskins . . .

. . . AND the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose to EITHER the Detroit Lions OR the Seattle Seahawks OR the New Orleans Saints . . .

. . . then the Packers are in the playoffs.

That is an extremely likely scenario. Unless the Bears lose out, which I don't see happening, the Patriots game is irrelevant to the Packers' postseason prospects; neither beating nor losing to the Patriots affects their odds of making the playoffs in any way. In my opinion, given that they do not have to beat the Patriots to make the playoffs, they probably should not even try. The smartest course of action would be to bench Aaron Rodgers, Donald Driver, Clay Matthews III, and any other starters who are ailing. They should treat this game as another bye week and return the team healthy and rested for the final two games, which ARE must-wins. Doing this would give Matt Flynn some valuable snaps in a real gametime situation against a challenging opponent and improve the teams chances of beating the Giants and Bears.

Considering, however, that we have a coaching staff who was too bullheaded to let an opposing team score when it would have given the offense a fighting chance to stage a last-minute comeback, I don't see it happening.

The game will be close if Aaron Rodgers is starting, but if not, it's a blowout.

I think with Rodgers, Green Bay's offense can score. They matchup well because they can spread them out. Something Chicago and New York couldn't do. Neither could Pittsburgh for that matter. Indy could and they were able to keep it close. It's what works for the most part.

Based on that espn playoff thing the patriots game is not irrelevant to the packers postseason. With a win against the Patriots it gives us one more out. With a win against the Patriots the Bears can still beat the Vikings and we can still get a 2nd or 6th seed. They just have to lose to us and the Jets and we need to win out.

If we lose, we lose by 3.

I'm afraid that's the law this seeason (OK I know we got beat by 4 by the Lions)

I dont want us to lose/throw this one I still want us to be in with a shout of winning the division. One loss by us and one win by the Bears and that's the division gone. Losing is a habit easily developed.

Whilst it is still on for us to win the division we give it our best shot.
