I think its important to mention that Ted is probably hell bent on making this ninth pick count; after all the way he goes on about 'liking the roster' you'd think he knows he won't be picking this high too often. Now it is important to state that Ted has said numerous times he likes competition, and wants to increase competition on the roster ... 6 potential picks in the top three is a hell of a lot more competition than just the ninth overall pick.

What it boils down to, IMO, is if the Packers (Ted) think there is top-10 talent there at #9. From reading the past week, the only legitimate top-10 talents that should be there are Raji, Jenkins, and in one mock Crabtree. If the above three are gone, I think you'll see Ted pull the trigger even if it is for something less. It's a scenario which would be similar to last year: a bunch of players rated about the same, none a top-10 caliber player.

What I'm most intrigued with is that it seems more and more possible lately that Crabtree is going to be staring us there at 9. I don't know about you, but I think MC is the surest thing to a playmaker this year; you better know you've got the second coming of Greg Jennings* on your roster if you pass that up.

* Edit - Greg Jennings is the second and third coming of himself. He's that good. My point is, if you feel you've got a Jennings caliber WR already on your roster, then and only then think about passing up Crabtree.

Interesting, I've read a rumor just now that says the Pats might be interested in trading up to nab CB Jenkins, not DE Tyson Jackson.

Jenkins makes a heck of a lot more sense than Tyson Jackson for the Pats; interesting.

Take it for what you will, but Belichick said there was less than a zero percent chance they'd trade into the top 10.

Jackson's gone so this is likely moot.
