Aaaahhh!!! Zombie--you're channeling me. I feel like I've been transported into some kind of parallel universe.

+1, by the way, for your comments on Grant. He's got to be more talented than his detractors make out if he's been racking up 1200+ yds each year.

Macbob - You're new here. I'm actually an amateur writer and one of my writing tools I use is exaggeration for effect. Like when I said "screw the run," I'm fully aware we still need to run the ball against teams like the Giants and even someone like the Pats who are the NFL's worst at defending the pass, we still need to run 20% of the time.

We also occasionally need to run to soften up the DL and to help chew up clock time.

It's an exaggeration. I hoped I made it obvious.

Then I became even more pro-pass when everyone became doom & gloom about our lack of running game. I don't like doom & gloom. Accomplishes nothing. So I found teams that won SBs with crappy running games and cited them.

As for Grant, I've always been a Grant fan and was defending him heavily last year when people were saying he's "boring" and all the other stuff they were calling him. The guy does nothing but produce. He gives the D a breather as he continually gets 4+ yards a run and helps keep the O on the field.

I'm hoping Starks can be like a Grant-lite.

wtf does does 2005 have to do with Starks debut?

You completely missed what Porky said then. I was responding to him about depth. He said that 2010 showed you can never have too much depth at RB. I said we already learned that in 2005.

Oh, shoot. I thought I had it figured out overnight...when you were saying you hoped Starks had 20 carries, I multiplied that out to figure out how many passes AR would throw...

Macbob - I'd have no problem with Aaron throwing 40+ passes as long as we're getting TDs. TD passes > attempts or yards. Of course in Aaron's case, I'm always stoked when he runs one in as well.

Somebody watch this video and please explain to me why he keeps shrugging his shoulders.

It's like he has turrets or something. And he also likes saying "I mean."

This isn't a bash on him, but it got kind of annoying haha.

Yeah those were my same impressions when I saw it too. He said "I mean" probably 20 times, no kidding. I think--just like how in his first interview when he was activated and he kept licking his lips and touching his face--he is just still nervous in front of the camera and getting used to a little spotlight. I think there would be much bigger problems if he started talking about himself in the third person (yeah I'm bringing it back up!!) or acted like a total cock to the reporters. There's nothing to worry about with his actions, just a little annoying.

Ryan Grant 6-1, 215 40 Time: 4.56
James Starks 6-2, 218 40 Time: 4.50

Very interesting. Didn't he look smaller than Grant? I'm not complaining. When a guy looks smaller than he really is, that often means that he is a very good athlete. That's my own theory, so take it for what it's worth.

"Scouts did not credit Grant with exceptional speed, but he was clocked at 4.43 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Combine"

Seriously I don't trust the 40 numbers as the NFL Network has caught it before being wrong. They can line two guys where they can start at the same time and you can watch them both at the same time. And they're done it before where they start at the same time but the guy with the slower time finishes first.

Starks does look smaller as he's build like a WR (also runs good routes and has good hands or at least did in college) but he's got a very thin waist it seems which makes him look smaller, but he's upper body seem to be build...

I think in a race if they were both 100% Grant would out run Starks but Starks seemed like he was willing to be more physical... not a lot more physical but more.

It's a physical reaction... could be because he's nervous or maybe just something he does while talking. It's like some people say "um" a lot... that's also a physical reaction I think... I believe it's basically nervous get to pause for a second and that physical reaction kind of unpauses a person.

His frame reminds me a lot of Kevin Jones, RB for the Lions (04-07) and Bears (08-09). Tall and thin. I think he looks thinner than Grant, but I think he looks a lot taller. And he is more physical, yes.
