I don't understand how this could be construed as the right thing for the Vikings to do. If the Favre experiment didn't work under Childress, why would it work under Frazier?

Yes, he needs to pad those stats farther out so Manning doesn't reach them.

Plus I have Favre on my fantasy team. I'm resting him this week, but against the Bills, you can bet the farm he'll get some serious points.

My thinking is that the Vikings have already sold their souls for Favre, and this is not the time to shake things up. Benching Favre would be a huge distraction for the new coach.

Also, the Vikings' downfall this year is not just Favre's fault. If Frazier is going to bench Favre, there are several other players he could bench. For now, he needs to play the hand he was dealt. Big changes will happen next year, beginning with a new QB but a lot of other players as well.

That is a very solid point that I failed to mention. +1

Frazier has his hands full getting this team to form some sense of unity again.. why fight that fight in the remainder of the season.

I bet if Favre faulters in the next game, he will be pulled.
I think with Childress gone, Favre's leash just got alot shorter.

I never understood why quarterbacks are coddled so much. They should be treated just the opposite.

They get the most attention, and the most money. With that comes responsibility and accountability. The coaches job is to win. And making personnel decisions based on anything other than who gives you the best chance to win, is dumb.

Favre has been god awful this season. I would bench him if I were the coach.

It is absolutely the right call. Minnesota shouldn't worry about finding out what Jackson has or hasn't. They already know enough about him. He started plenty of games in his career including one in the postseason. He's not a good QB. Webb is a practice squad worthy player at best.

Their future is either in the draft or on a different NFL team right now. They need to focus on winning games. Favre is the best option for that reason. Remember, Green Bay was 4-8 in 2006 and they stuck with Favre. The result was a four game winning streak, which gave the team a boost of confidence entering 2007. The Packers reached the NFC title game that year. If Minnesota is smart, they'll start Favre because of the rest of the guys on that team.

Childress loss the locker room, but I don't believe Favre has for a moment.

Yeah they stuck with Favre in 2005 too. 30 turnovers later....

Also, "losing the locker room" is one of the most over used cliches in sports. Childress didnt get fired be cause he lost the locker room; he got fired because he lost too many games.

Why have they lost so many games? Because Favre, game after game, keeps throwing game changing interceptions. He leads the league in interceptions, and is 31st in qb rating. He's absolutely horrible. Thats your best chance to win? Come on man. He's one of the biggest reasons why they haven't won games.

Losing the team is said when the team stops buying into the coaches teachings, leading, etc.

If the members of your team don't trust or believe in what the leader is saying, it will fail. It's not that far of a stretch.

Here's my answer if farve should start:

If I were a viking fan I would not care who would start.
Look Jackson is not gonna cure the vikings at all he'll play no better than farve but worse and more rusty he hasn't started a game since what 2008 and he lost his job to Gus Fagget.

I don't care who starts for the vikings if I was a vik fan because their season is over.

packerfanoutwest (4h) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.
Zero2Cool (4h) : It's a poor design. New site has SignalR like our gameday chat
wpr (5h) : Ah today's Shout was very quick to post.
wpr (5h) : now 3
Zero2Cool (6h) : Who? What?
beast (15h) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (19h) : meh
Zero2Cool (23h) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026
Zero2Cool (23h) : It's so awesome.
Zero2Cool (23h) : new site fan shout post fast

wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
