Leslie Frazier announced that Brett Favre will start at QB on Sunday against the Redskins. Is this the right call? I say yes.

Yes, he needs to pad those stats farther out so Manning doesn't reach them.

For the Vikes, it's the stupidest thing they could do. Their season's over. They need to find out what they've got in TJ and Webb.

From a Packers standpoint, however, I couldn't be happier. Brent gives them their best chance to win and them beating the Bears, Giants, Redskins and Eagles can only help us (not that they will, but at least Brent gives them their best chance to).

I don't understand how this could be construed as the right thing for the Vikings to do. If the Favre experiment didn't work under Childress, why would it work under Frazier?

This scenario is the exact same set-up for when Burt left, yet the Vikes didn't learn 2 years ago, and are even dumber now! He's led you as far as he's going to take you, so why not see what you do/don't have in the future (just like what the packers did).

I assume they'll at least want him to get to 300 and get some other records...which is bull for myriad reasons.

There is a really really cold snowball's chance in hell of the vikes going 9-7 and making the playoffs...but once they're officially eliminated, I can't see ANY justification for keeping him in.

As someone else said, the only person that believed in Tavaris Jackson was just fired yesterday.

They have no QB of the future in the waiting. Maybe Joe Webb?

ya tough call ... I wouldnt do both at once if I were the owner ... perhaps eek out a few more wins or see how it goes.

But if brent continues to flop then stick whomever in there ...

ya I do hope they beat the bears

I don't think we from the outside can really make the call at this point.. basically because we haven't seen the growth of TJ in the past year.

The coaches will know what is best, and I believe Frasier will rapidly change the culture of that franchise. Watch is presser.. he has that presence about him.

Book it.. Frasier will get a hold of that team.

I think he wants to win now, Frasier that is, because he has a handful of games to make a statement.

So if he feels Favre gives him the best shot at winning.. he should roll with him.

Book it.. it was bad news for us that Frasier gets his chance. Just my feeling from the things I have seen of him.. and more importantly what the players say about him.

Not disagreeing - I think he'll be a good coach, too. But you just can't tell. Five years ago we were all (mostly) wringing our hands because the Vikes got the hottest new up-and-coming head coach candidate and we got the guy from Jiffy Lube. How'd that turn out?

Agreed... but there are other factors in there. I think back to the coaching tree of Bill Walsh and the descendants from his staffs.

Then I look at a modern day Walsh in Dungy. Look at the guys Dungy has brought had under him and their successes in the league.

Then listen to Frasier in how he talks and the way he "owns" the room.

It is my gut feel.. my personal opinion that he will fix the locker room and sideline issues of the Vikes... and that might not solve all the issues on the field.. but there will be carry over. This year is probably lost for them.. other than he can earn the job.
