Football fans just love to chant any name that rhymes with "Boooo". Kinda like pirates with "R" sounds. Arrrrg...

Agreed Yooper.
We cheered for him not because he gets 2 yards but HOW he gets them. He punishes the would be tackler.
He always seems to get another 2 yards AFTER first contact.

Quick Kuhn story-
Guy sitting next to me last night told me that his wife helps run a charity in Milwaukee. Milwaukee 100 something or other.
They had a fundraiser and one of the events for kids was this giant rubberband pull. To try and see how far they could pull it.

When the fundraiser was all over James Jones and John Kuhn wanted to try the rubber band out. Kuhn broke it. The band is about 2 inches in diameter but he snapped it and flew across the room and landed on the ground. Everyone was scared he broke an ankle or something. he got up laughing. Jones was giving him a hard time.

Cool story. And yes, it's how he gets them. He softens up defenses. Defenders are used to doling out punishment. With Kuhn, they're taking some punishment when tackling. I like that. The NY Giants used to do that effectively, alternating between the big guy and the fast guy.

I like the cheering, but I wonder if they start it too early. Often last night the fans started screaming Kuhn the second he touched the ball. Could this be "tipping off" opposing defenses? ๐Ÿ™‚

Plus he is one hell of a nice guy.

He's the player that gave me that game glove that LTF's brother has, plus he's the guy that gave me that autographed photo that Ironman has.

That wouldn't be much of a big deal, except I never even asked for them.

The glove was given to me when my family's friend visited him and she mentioned what a Packer zealot I am, plus she merely told him that I had told her about his 2 TD performance the previous week. That conversation took place at the metrodome---on Kuhn's nickel, no less--and she is a Vikings fan, for cripessakes.

The photo is the best one--nice guy, class-wise---

He was visiting her here in Pennsylvania AND ASKED HER if Dave would want an autographed photo--- It had never crossed her mind to even ask for such a thing, her being a [strike]moron[/strike] Viking fan and all...

He had simply remembered that there was a "local" guy (for him--he's a central PA boy) named Dave that rooted for him and his Pack, and that was months? weeks? after the glove gift.

The items themselves are no big deal, but the thoughtfulness was, imo.

How could I not cheer for John Kuhn?

If you ask me, it should be louder.

I hate knowing QwestField and Arrowhead Stadium are louder than us when we have better fans.

If you don't like the Kuhn chant you are a terrorist.

Some things in sports are "tacky cool".. IMO this is one of them. My son kept saying how foolish it sounds last night.. carry after carry.

Funny how we have picked these types of names to do this with.. from Kounce to Kuhn... something with the K?
