XRays were negative. Bye comes at a good time. He can rest and get right.

X-rays negative on Ryan Pickett's ankle.

X-rays were negative on Pickett's ankle. It's the same ankle that's been bothering the veteran DE for weeks.

I wonder if they rushed him back. Sometimes it's better to give it another week before pushing someone into playing. Not saying they did that or did anything wrong, but when the players wants to play, sometimes it's better to say no.

Good. Pickett creates havoc for OLs. Him, Jenkins, and Raji have been solid this year.

They're (the coaching staff) usually a pretty careful bunch. I totally agree. Letting players sit out is often the right approach in the long run. Benching Clay in the 4th quarter of the Redskins game no doubt contributed to the loss, but he was back on the field fully healthy in two weeks. Keeping players out until they're 100% will never be the wrong call.

Yeah, they've always erred on the side of caution.

An ankle, once hurt, can effect you the rest of your life.
I know......i sprained mine when i was a kid (BAD sprain) and it's never been right since. I can't count the number of times it just gave out on me over the years.
Now, imagine a 350 plus pound guy, who makes his living pushing off said ankle. It might NEVER be 100%.

Pickett and our d line when healthy really open up space for
Clay and our blitzers while creating some pressure on their own. We need the 3 starters to be healthy in order for our d to function on all cylinders.

Hope he's back after the bye. We never had either Pickett OR Jenkins last game against the queens.

Throw in Howard Green and the emerging C.J. Wilson and the Packers' defensive line is solid when they're actually healthy.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
