You know Finland, denying how much you're Swedish is kind of like some of the good ol' boys I knew back in Texas who would exclaim how heterosexual they were. You're not a quarter Swedish, are you?

Silver's column was good, but his feeling about Favre-Vikings Part 2 was a pretty common one--maybe even the consensus. Here's what Don Banks had to say:

And Cheesey's "No Moss" pun was simply amazing.

I tend to immediately dismiss any statement that begins with a superlative and ends in the word "ever," because in my experience, it's never remotely true. The title of this thread is no exception.

It must be rough to take everything literally. I barely even noticed the thread title, because I assumed right away that it was a lighthearted exaggeration.

No, I wouldn't have put that as the title if it really wasn't the most prophetic article ever. Do you actually think I really would have resorted to said light-hearted exaggeration? Hell no!

I predicted at the start of the season that the Vikes would not make the playoffs.

I also though predicted that the Jets would be one season wonders and Pittsburgh would fail miserably.

If I forget the Jets and Steelers predictions I would look prophetic as well.

Now I look pathetic.

And after all it is only half way through the season so there are still many intangibles that could happen.

The Vikings season is going pretty much how I expected. If they lose to AZ I will actually be dead on for my prediction for their record.

But if they are out of it after the AZ game, Favre will have no reason to play and end his season prematurely. I would like them to be on the edge of elimination all season, vainly chasing that slim hope... into the abyss.

That is my dream ending for Favre's career. A soft splat quietly in the distance, with no meaning or relevance. Out of contention and out of hope... (Cue diabolical laughter)
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
