Nick Barnett season finished again

Just heard Barnett is being placed on IR and the Packers signed DE Michael Montgomery, who spent training camp with the Vikings.

I believe this makes 2 seasons of the past 3 that he has not finished.

IMO, sucks when you lose a starter for the season this early. However this is a position I think we can fill. If Finley is done for the season that is worse then Barnett.

Hope he gets healthy!

It's official, he's IR'd. Which makes sense because we have Bishop in his place who did a "decent" job last week.

I figured Finley was worth the wait, Barnett, not so much.

The Green Bay Packers have placed starting inside linebacker Nick Barnett, who had wrist surgery on Wednesday, on season-ending injured reserve and re-signed defensive lineman Mike Montgomery on Friday, according to the team's official Web site.

Barnett was injured during a Week 4 victory against the Detroit Lions. His 24 tackles still rank fourth on the team.

Montgomery, a 6-foot-5, 282-pound sixth-year player out of Texas A&M, was selected by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft and played in 56 games with eight starts during his five seasons in Green Bay (2005-09). He signed with the Minnesota Vikings but was released during training camp.

Color me okay with this move.. king of 3 yard past line of scrimmage tackler isn't a crushing loss as the talking head make it out to be.

Bishop gives up coverage verse Barnett.. but Bishop is also more aggressive at the LOS.. we gain some, lose some with the Barnett loss. Chillar hopefully comes back and can assist in coverage.

Bush - the Rodney Dangerfield of the GBP. I would tender a guess that his versatility is why he is on this team.
