Grant's injury....sucks, but he was just an above average NFL RB
Barnett's.....sucks, but can be overcome
Finley's....the patriots and steelers seem to do really well without dominate TEs....it sucks, but another one we can overcome

Mathews......OUCH, pass rushers that good in a 3-4 are rare and can dominate a game....theis injury means game over if more than a couple weeks.

Rodgers.....OUCH....I like Flynn, but game over if more than a couple weeks.

Oh yeah Donald Lee......CHILD please, no biggie

What are everyone else's thoughts?

DE Justin Harrell
He was having a good game. But it's not like anybody expected him to do anything.

ILB Nick Barnett
It sucks because he's the guy who started "SUPER BOWL OR DIE," but he's among our most overrated players. Again, we have Bishop, Hawk, and Chillar all playing the position. Green Bay can get over this.

SS Morgan Burnett
TOUGH loss that will affect his potential. I'd hope he comes back strong, but we need Bigby back as soon as possible. But I have to admit that Peprah didn't have a bad game against Washington. Only Charles Woodson would've been able to stop Armstrong on that big pass.

LB Clay Matthews
If we lose him, our defense is fucked. There's no way around that.

QB Aaron Rodgers
If we lose him, you can kiss the season goodbye.

TE Jermichael Finley
Huge loss, but we've won games without him. Aaron Rodgers needs to rediscover himself and starting spreading the ball around more than just looking at the TE as your first option all the time.

Yeah I forgot about Burnett, but you are right, if/when Bigby comes back we should be OK. The D did pretty well last year when he was in.

I was just about to say that.

However, we should be able to overcome this as long as he's not out long. He's our other best run stuffer other than Raji.

I would rather lose, 5 players from one position than lose 5 starters at 5 different positions. We saw in 08' what the combined effect is when you lose from every part of a group.

When you lose a player, you expect the backup to step up and the players around that spot to help cover. Well our backups have stepped up across the defense. Neal, Bishop, Lee, Peprah even Poppinga for Matthews. The problem is with each section of the defense down, who is left to help.

The combined effect is greater than the individual players.

Offense isn't as bad but TE is a huge part of our offense and losing Finley is huge. Quarless stepped up good, but can he do it week in and out.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

cr@p.....good point. Well he is a very good NT, but I think Raji is just as good. As a DE I think he is a little out of place.

Man am I rationalizing or what (and typing poorly). On the plus side at leats the Bear's suck...what? they are 4-1....ahhhhhh

So that Steger chick.....

The Packers can't lose Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews.

But they also can't lose everybody else and that's kinda happening right now. You can only take so much. This team needs to survive while getting healthy. Win at home and they do that. The odds aren't very good IMO.

The problem is, we have lost SEVERAL important players. Back ups are just that, back ups. If they were as good as the starters, they would have been starting.
Finley.....his loss is HUGE. Look how many big plays he made before this last game? He changed the games he was in. I don't care how many good players you have, losing one that was a major part of your offense is gonna hurt ALOT.
If CM3 is out AT ALL< our D is screwed. We saw the difference from when he was playing yesterday to when he was out. Night and day.
Put all the players together that we have lost, and i don't know if we can overcome it. We lost to a lousy team yesterday. NEVER should have happened. So what does that say about us? Sure, we are 3-2.......but i see this as the "crossroads". Either we get our S**T together now, or kiss the season goodbye. A losing streak now will kill any thoughts of post season play. And let's face it......if we were in the playoffs right now, we woulod be "one and done". It's time for the big boys to start earning their pay. Get their collective heads out of their butts and start playing up to potential.
JMO of course....for what it's worth.

The honest truth is the injuries blow. This talk about Rodgers out for two games has me nervous. Did I miss a news report?
