Maybe if Green Bay's record were 1-3 or maybe even 0-4 would Ted change course. But, the team's 3-1 and sitting pretty in the division. I don't see any moves coming whatsoever.

Can you please explain to me how we are sitting pretty? The Vikes just have gotten a player Lord Favre wanted and Rice will be back in 4 weeks, with that alone scares me. We are using our 3rd string Safety and a 4th string cb in Bush. We have no running game which means teams can just play us in pass coverage. We Lost to the Bears so we are actually behind them and we still have the Vikes twice.

So I ask you again, what makes you say we are sitting pretty?

Back on topic, do I think Ted Thompson will make a move because of this? The answer is very simple, HELL NO Teddy won't make a big move, never has and probably never will. He has to much faith and pride in his draft picks.

He is propably banking on Justin Harrell's brother Starks to be the answer.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Sure the Vikings got Moss, will be getting Rice back ... but we're getting Bigby and Harris back to counter.

Sure they haven't played football for a year now but hey when they get there rust off this defense will be upgraded.

I'm not worried, even tho I want a trade to happen this team will grow as the season goes along just like last year.

I don't think I'd be happy if they did a deal simply because other teams had done so. I would imagine a lot is riding on who's available and what they're available for.

Lynch is a problem child - he's a good back, but not game-changing, but he's also a guy who has one strike left and a track record that indicates he'll swing at that pitch soon enough. Seattle, on paper, would net a better pick than the Packers, so there's that.

I'll admit (as I think I do every year) that it would be nice to see Thompson do something that we fans feel should be done. Specifically, I'd love to see him make a bold move and get DeAngelo Williams, who is the better back and (at this point) better man than Lynch. I'll assume, based on history, that he won't do it - and I'll be disappointed, but not pissed off. The window for this team is still on the upswing.

100% agree.

While we are a good team.. we have holes.

The Lynch decision can be looked at like a balance sheet.. there are pros and cons about it. A case can be made for either side of the ledger.. but when you look at the cost, a 4th verses the talent upgrade over what we have.. it becomes very arguable.

But, as people are hammering, we don't know all the facts about the case.. but just looking at that value.. it would look like a solid risk for the Packers to make.

Williams, I don't know that we get him for a 4th, he is a couple years older.. but I agree a less risk than Lynch.

When it all comes to the point.. we have a couple of chinks in our roster.. and in a season where it looks like we have to the horses to compete.. it seems logical that you take some risks to upgrade the roster for the short term to overcome your "holes" by injury.

No plan can handle all variables going into a season.. sometimes you have to adjust to the now by giving up a bit of the future.

Looks like after a trade for MOSS, everyone has VIKINGS as the contender out of NFC NORTH. Hm I wonder how long will Ted Thompson & Mcarthy think before making a move that we really need. IMO the reason why we are not as good as we were last year is because we got no running game and the dumb ass Ted Thompson didn't grab LYNCH for fourth rounder? I bet a lot of people in Green BAY are PO at the upper office for not making a move. I AM REALLY PO that we are doing jack squad on getting better since we have been riddled with injuries. GROW SOME BALLS AND MAKE A MOVE TT.

I think Ted Thompson knows as well as anyone that the majority is usually wrong. If he gave in to every shifting tide of media and fan urgency that swept through, he'd have been out of a job years ago.

Something that is urgent is not necessarily important. The ringing of a telephone is urgent, but it's rarely important. Something that is important is not always urgent. Paying one's taxes is important, but it's not urgent. Something that is both urgent and important is an emergency. I think Ted Thompson has a fine grasp of these subtleties and will not act out of haste or external compulsion.

And this is also why most people have no business in the stock market. They play by emotion rather than reason.

Kudos to Ted for sticking to his guns. We're going to go deep this year with Kuhn/Jackson/Starks. Watch.

Kinks are being ironed out. MM is working on them. Penalties killed us against da Bears. 2 ST fumbles and our D failing to stop the Lions almost cost us an upset vs the Lions.

Work in progress.

I'm starting to understand Ted's approach as a conservative, long-term investor. He doesn't do things brash unless he absolutely has to (like drafting CM3 last year - that was hard-core).

One final point - I'm glad people here are finally respecting Ryan Grant. I've always loved the guy and had to defend him a million times. Now that he's gone, everyone's finally starting to realize just how good he was. But like I've always said, keys to winning a Championship (in this order):
1) D
2) elite QB

(RB nice to have, but not necessary).

We'll be fine, folks, as long as we don't have key injuries on D (and I'm knocking on wood as I'm typing this).

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
