Disclaimers about locker room concerns and Moss' productivity aside (0 catches v Mia), there's no doubting that at least the appearance or potential for a key upgrade just flew by for a (relative to initial reports) cheap price, and our chief rival just filled a major need.

Do you feel this could or should compel Ted and company to make moves to compensate for Grant or Burnett?

I doubt it. If anything, Thompson has shown he won't be scared into making any moves based on what division rivals do.

I would like Lewis added for Safety Depth. Not sure on RB. Not against any attempt to improve.

We need a tall DB that can catch wounded duck jumpballs.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I'd like to say yes to the title, but, my feeling based on experience with Ted, not a chance in hell. He'll respond to a question like this saying he doesn't make knee jerk reactions to what other teams do (or what fans want) and his goal is making the Packers the best team possible. Which I believe he feels he's done already.

But I'm sure I'm wrong on that OPINION too because I feel we should look at all deals in a broad scope.

Um if I would make a move its for a S to help cover moss 🙂.Jk but moss is like Megatron2 in are division Charles Woodson can cover him but of course we need to double him a lot.

Why would this compel him to make a move?

Ted has said in the past, he worries little what other people are doing, just what would make the Packers better.

He didn't think enough of Lynch that he would make us better.. so why would he now react to that move?

As far as Moss to the Vikes.. Ted is probably looking at his PUP list with Harris and Bigby sitting there.. looking at his roster on whom he is going to have to release to make room for them.. and the weighing the options on the market..

We know one thing about Ted.. he trusts his plan.. he has said that a number of times.. so I highly doubt he is going to react to these moves.

Should he? Well that is for each to hold their own opinion upon.. but if that opinion holds any negative criticism for Ted, some may take offense.

Maybe if Green Bay's record were 1-3 or maybe even 0-4 would Ted change course. But, the team's 3-1 and sitting pretty in the division. I don't see any moves coming whatsoever.

You're right about Ted's tract record 93z, but i feel there are a few variables that make the last 24 hrs. unique.

1) From an outsider's perspective, this is the closest the Packers have been to a SB-caliber team.

2) Off memory, Grant is probably the single most influential in-season loss the team has faced in the last 5 years

3) Off memory, Moss is the biggest in-season acquisition for a divisional rival in the last 5 years.

What I'm getting at is that from a media/fan perspective there is a heightened sense of urgency, or a window of opportunity to capitalize on. The question is if the sentiment is shared by Ted et al, or even if it is, if this is enough to provoke him to act out of character.

I think Ted Thompson knows as well as anyone that the majority is usually wrong. If he gave in to every shifting tide of media and fan urgency that swept through, he'd have been out of a job years ago.

Something that is urgent is not necessarily important. The ringing of a telephone is urgent, but it's rarely important. Something that is important is not always urgent. Paying one's taxes is important, but it's not urgent. Something that is both urgent and important is an emergency. I think Ted Thompson has a fine grasp of these subtleties and will not act out of haste or external compulsion.

What other teams do should never compel a GM to make moves. GMs should only make moves that are relative to the evaluation of their own team.
