You can statistically find a game to prove out any claim.

But to your point, cutting down penalties, one way is to slow down the pass rush, that in turn should cut down on holding, false starts (trying to get a quick jump) and more importantly keep your QB healthy.

Point is, our tackles were struggling with the pass rush partially due to the defense being able to full out rush with little to worry about in terms of a run..

The whole point is to keep the offensive play calling advantage by keeping the defense off balance.. but last time I checked.. your offense isn't the only part of a team.. hell it isn't even the most important part if you want to point to the statistics overall and exclusively.

The running game was struggling because the Tackles were not picking up their blocks. The Tackles were struggling because we weren't running. Somewhere a snake just ate its own head.

There were 3 offensive holding called on the Packers. Colledge, Sitton and Tauscher. The false starts could more easily be explained by the volume of the Bear crowd. That is what our players attributed it too.

The holding could also be attributed to getting off the ball late from not hearing the snap count.

I am not going to say that is all the problem, but it is a contributor. Saying the running game will fix all of the penalty problems for the Packers is hyperbole.

Many of the penalty yards came from 15 yard roughness and PI calls. The running game wouldn't impact that at all. The 3 dropped or turned over ints that preceded 3 of their 4 scores wouldn't be affected either.

Yes, it would be nice to have a better running game. But that isn't why we lost.

So you can go with establishing the run to help your tackles and line or you can ask the crowd nicely to please quiet down so our line can hear the cadence.

Yep.. I will go with option one, unless you like getting spit upon. ;)

Running 13 times over the course of the game.. and I would guess maybe 12 of them were out of the two back set.. then dropping back 47 times.. I wonder how come the tackles struggled.

True or False?

Did we not run the crap out of the ball before Favre threw away a shot at a NFC championship to the Eagles. 207 yards on the ground by the running game.

We lost because we didn't have the guts to run it on 4th and 1. Green was an absolute monster that game and I have no doubt he gets us that yard and we close out the clock. Fuck I am gonna be miserable all day thinking about that mess of a decision.

Alrite after this loss to the bears I have seen countless posts on here about how either were finished without a running game or jackson sucks or what not just STOP that.If you were real packer fans I would not worrie about that other than losing faith because we haven't ran the ball great.Serously don't blame this on jackson or 1 he hasn't started a game since '07 if I recall and 2 he has been a 3rd down back since Arod started I mean give the guy a break he is not terrible. He plays better catching the ball out of the backfield on 2nd and 3rd downs. He will get better the more reps he takes starting in the system. The thing that concerns me more is the oline several plays I saw monday night the oline ran into jackson when he was trying to run Clifton is horrid at run blocking he gets beat easily I saw this even in the eagles game. Were not finished because are running game is bad STOP WORRYING.

Sorry to offend REAL Packer fans but the run game with B-jack sucks. :pukeright: Although he hasn't started since '07 he has gotten plenty of reps. The OL has not played well either, but even if they had B-jack is still a sub-par RB.

Look for James Starks to easily replace him part way through this season and beyond.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
