back??

this was discussed for 2 years and nothing gets done about it. Ted Thompson will not build a super bowl team just on draft picks, he is not that talented of a selector, ie Harrell.

It'll take some time. I think we need to get rid of the dead weight (Clifton, Tauscher) after this season at the latest.

We got Bulaga and Sitton, two promising guys for the future. Let's build around those guys.

Packer - This is actually an old discussion that maybe needs to be brought back. I'm under the impression that a lot of people on this board put the blame more on the OL coach as Ted Thompson has drafted plenty of OL and the coach fails to mold them into anything.

I am by no means an OL expert so I don't feel my 2 cents is as worthy as some of the other posters here.

I do agree with Finland though that Bulaga and Sitton have promise and we should start building the rest of the OL around them.

I'm kind of stuck in two projects at work, but could someone post every OL that we've drafted since Ted came aboard?

The Online will be a roller coaster until Campen is replaced.. color me convinced.

Ironic.. though I need to research it, if memory serves correct, Campen was a heavily flagged offensive lineman as well. ;)

With that said.. the next generation of lineman on this club are more physical than the 06' batch. Things will straighten out..

BTW.. I am starting a spreadsheet of those painting Cliffy and Mark as "dead weight" and done.. later in the season reference when they save our asses.. that is if we balance out the offense a bit..

Some forget how Mark solidified the line last season.. but now they are useless. lol. Insanely hilarious.

Sure thing:

Junius Coston - C/G - Round 5 - 2005
Will Whitticker - G - Round 7 - 2005
Daryn Colledge - G - Round 2 - 2006
Jason Spitz - G - Round 3 - 2006
Tony Moll - OT - Round 5 - 2006
Allen Barbre - OT - Round 4 - 2007
Josh Sitton - G - Round 4 - 2008
Breno Giacomini - OT - Round 5 - 2008
T.J. Lang - OT - Round 4 - 2009
Jamon Meredith - OT - Round 5 - 2009
Bryan Bulaga - OT - Round 1 - 2010
Marshall Newhouse - G/OT - Round 5 - 2010

Whether it's the GM or the OL coach, I have to say this does not look good at all.

Thanks Finland.

So yes, Ted Thompson does do his share of drafting OL. He's done his part. The coaches have to do theirs and make NFL players out of them.

When I have an OL question though, I usually ask Pack93z.

He definitely saved our ass last year, but this year he has looked like shit. Simple as that. I'm not saying he can't turn things around. I'm not saying he can.

The OL and run game have been dead sense mm arrived, giving no indication of future improvement.

Bozz added to the shit list column.. ;)

By being unbalanced we allowed the DE to set up wide.. they didn't have to worry about the run.. and gave the whole advantage to the DE in the match up.. as a tackle when you have to remain in a close gap and on the LOS scrimmage you are beat more often from the start than not.. don't care whom you are as a tackle.

When the DE sets up wide.. your first drop step as a offensive tackle has to be a deep one.. and giving up balance in order to do so.. that opens up both the outside edge and inside edge up for the DE to attack.. you by alignment as a tackle are off balance from the snap.. and facing a guy, when motivated, like Peppers that type of advantage.. you as that DE better win that battle more often than not..

Pissed me off that we didn't run more guard/tackle or off tackle draws to alter that attack.. MM has got to look back to last season and figure out that we didn't start to dominate defenses until we established balance in the play calling and helping our aging and young tackles out.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
