You have a much better chance with the ball in his hands and a minute then you do with 8 or 5 seconds and a kickoff.

Normally yes.

But not when you are in as hostile an environment as Chicago, have Tackles that are playing terrible, and your top two playmakers have been dealing with cramps.

you are completely leaving out the fact that Rodgers had been effectively moving the team down the field. OL play and cramping is irrelevant if Rodgers is still moving the ball regardless.

You take Rodgers with a minute over hoping to block an extra point 10 times out of 10 no matter what.

I for one can't wait to hear McCarthy try to justify this.

Rodgers had lead this team on several extremely long drives. Had it not been for the penalties on the tackles, Rodgers would have had at least one more TD pass. Mike McCarthy essentially slapped this offense in the face by refusing to give it the chance to make a last-ditch stand.

Fuck Mike McCarthy's "defense-first" mentality. This team's strength is its offense, no matter what his philosophy might tell him.

True.

Leroy Butler has also on previous occasions come out and stated that McCarthy does have a habit of not putting the ball in the hands of his best player in key moments.

What really burns me up is ignoramuses will say that Chicago dominated the Packers, when precisely the opposite is true.

I posted this comment in another thread but I have to say that on the local ESPN post game show here in Chicago Steve Mongo McMichaels couldn't stop repeating that the Packers gave this game to the Bears and so did most of the callers I heard. Even the reporter they had at the game agreed. Not a bit of gloating, I was surprised.

I was screaming at the tv to let them score!! Right when the game was over I knew this topic would be number 1. That was stupid. Just because a kicker missed an extra point distance FG the week earlier? That was why it made the news.... it rarely happens.

My jaw dropped to the floor when they stopped Forte at the 1 yard line. I was about ready to break the TV.

At Chicago with Peppers terrorizing our Tackles and our two best playmakers cramping up (A-Rod and J-Mike)... I just do not think we had even a slight shot at scoring a TD.

One play is all it takes. Also, Rodgers scrambled quite well for a TD after starting to "Cramp up". His mobility wasn't that impaired. But yes, the O line was the big question. But it's not like we didn't put impressive drives together despite penalties. No way I can argue that praying for a fumble or missed XP is more rational than trusting our offense.
