lol ... you have your dreams, I have mine. Money means nothing to me, if you question that, think back about how many times I've asked for money to help with this place. ;)

Money is one of the main contributors to the problems we have in this world, alongside all the "religions".

whats better than sitting on a bench for $10 million? playing for $5 million would be pointless compared to the other choice, what if you are one of the quarterbacks that either A. sucks the big one (such as the raiders team), B. that is a one year wonder, and is benched for the rest of your career, or C. that gets a career ending injury and only amounts to $5 million bucks, compared to $10 million for a career that has a very much higher chance to last longer
i gotta go for the money on this one

I'll take a six pack delivered either way and be done with it. I'm out, and the wife doesn't seem to be movin' on the issue.

After seeing Theisman's injury over and over again, and seeing one of my favorite players of all-time get injured on several occasions (Lynn Dickey), I'd be more than content to ride the pine. Plus, I've always argued Steve Young is one of the best 3 QBs I've ever seen. It just took one hit and his career was over.

Troy Aikman is overrated and doesn't deserve to be in the Hall (right place at the right time, kind of like Ben R), but he's a pretty good QB and he'll be like Mohammed Ali in a decade or two.

C happens more often than we like to admit. Starters who leave the NFL uninjured are actually minorities. I don't remember the link but I heard it's around 25%.

That said, I have utmost respect for glory hounds. I'm not just one of them.

Depends on your goals and dreams in life. If you dream of having money, take the money. If you dream of playing in the NFL, take the MILLIONS to play a game you love and dreamed of playing.

$5 million for one year of playing in the NFL? Sign me up, when do I start?
$10 million to put in all the work, but to never get a chance? Fuck that.

Five million is plenty for me, my family and my daughters. Plus they can say their daddy PLAYED in the NFL, albeit probably got his ass handed to him 16 times, lol.

Is this taking into account what we feel as people?

Because if it is

It depends.

If I had a chance to start or be a backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers? I'd play for the bare minimum. I'd sign a contract for however long I was needed for the bare minimum. If there wasn't a collective bargaining agreement I would deem $75,000 an acceptable wage for my toils. I would not take any more of the Packers money then what I thought was ok to maintain everything in my life and put a little aside every month. I would play my heart out. I would relentlessly give my soul to the team I love. I would respect my profession so much that I would toil at perfecting my craft.

Any other NFL team?

Bah, give me $10,000,000 or $5,000,000, I couldn't give a shit. Ask me to play against the Pack at your peril though, because I will be handing over more rocks than an archeologist.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : well, he was

beast (26-Jan) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab
Zero2Cool (25-Jan) : Any reason I'm catching a shot here about my intelligence?
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
