What would be interesting, and I hope it never happens, is if Finley has to miss some time due to injury. Would Quarless be next in line to pick up the slack in the passing game? He is probably the second fastest and second most athletic tight end on the team.

Now, I'm no subscriber to the "Quarless is the next Finley" theory, because I just haven't seen much evidence of it, but considering how much Donald Lee appears to have declined as a receiver, there may be things that Quarless could do that Lee or Crabtree could not.

I like Quarless and I believe he will play a lot of football for us. As far as who I would like to be playing now, the one who most will help us win the game.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

I agree with all of you now that I have thought about it.

I think Quarless is better TE than Crabtree. But Crabtree is a ST stud... and that's why he's active and Quarless isn't, as Finely and Lee fill the main TE spots...

All I have to say is: you can never have enough weapons.

And where is all of this "Crabtree is a beast on STs" coming from? I haven't seen him make any big plays......

If he wasn't good at ST he wouldn't be starting on 4/5 and with the way the blocking has been on KR I just don't see the point of messing with the lineup. I do think he had like 2 tackles on kickoffs last week though anyway.

You haven't seen him make any big plays because he's been blocking for them... he's clearly one of the best blocker on STs along with Hall.

He's not a stud on coverage units but blocking units (like the return units) he is.

If Swain gets hurt, we could see Quarless.

hmmmmm.. Crabtree is questionable for this game I think Quarless will get time if crab doesn't play.
