Hawk is not planning to stay in Green Bay next season even if Ted Thompson wanted to pay him millions to sit on the bench. Although an average player by comparison to others on the Packers roster, Hawk could be a solid starting LB for lesser teams around the NFL.

The bolded part is what sucks the most for me. I know a lot of peole don't like AJ for his lack of production, but he is a solid player (maybe not as solid as his contract). Nonetheless, he is a strong player at a key position in our 3-4.
If we actually used the 3-4, I'd say keep him. But the more and more I look at this the more I agree with you. Because 1) AJ is extremely disgruntled 2) It's his last year on contract and he's high talent for other teams that aren't in near as good as shape as us.
The conclusion for me is the same as Kampy's was, either trade him and get actual value or hold on to him for too long and get crap in return. I say all of this with a feeling of being kicked in the groin because I love AJ Hawk.
