Hawk is not planning to stay in Green Bay next season even if Ted Thompson wanted to pay him millions to sit on the bench. Although an average player by comparison to others on the Packers roster, Hawk could be a solid starting LB for lesser teams around the NFL.

The bolded part is what sucks the most for me. I know a lot of peole don't like AJ for his lack of production, but he is a solid player (maybe not as solid as his contract). Nonetheless, he is a strong player at a key position in our 3-4.

If we actually used the 3-4, I'd say keep him. But the more and more I look at this the more I agree with you. Because 1) AJ is extremely disgruntled 2) It's his last year on contract and he's high talent for other teams that aren't in near as good as shape as us.

The conclusion for me is the same as Kampy's was, either trade him and get actual value or hold on to him for too long and get crap in return. I say all of this with a feeling of being kicked in the groin because I love AJ Hawk.

This is the first I have heard that Hawk wants out.

Why? Surely one game sitting on the bench because of the opponent isn't going to do it.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Green Bay has a good history of bringing "troubled" players in and turning around their careers...Andre Rison and Koren Robinson immediately come to mind.

I would approve this trade even tho I really like Hawk.

No, it wasn't sitting on the bench in last week's game. He put his house on the market 11 days ago (before the game). This and the depth the packers have at LB, gives a strong indication he is planning for his departure after this year.

Agreed. I have never been a fan of Hawk because he didn't live up to his draft expectations, but his production is more than solid.

With Bishop having a hamstring problem, we are actually thin at ILB. Get rid of him and we are down to 2.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

First Rodgers, now ... Barnett?

Id love to have (Lynch) as a running back, but it depends on what the expense is, Packers linebacker Nick Barnett said. Theyve got some good backs. Were going to steal one of those guys, hopefully.

The RB's on the Packers must feel loved.

Hawk did a post game interview with Larry McCarren yesterday on WTMJ. He said all the right things. He didn't complain about the lack of playing time in week one or being in the sub packages. He sounded like a team player.

He even said that he cringed a bit at what his agent said last week. (paraphrased.) That what his agent said had no impact on his increased number of snaps this week as the bame plan was already in place by the time anything was said. He went on to say that he hoped that there would be no one who is outside of GB management would be able to influence the coaching decisions.

I dont mind what he said, Hawk said. He said if someone wanted me to play the whole time, Id be excited. Who wouldnt be excited if thats the case?
