I personally cringe when I see Morgan Burnett in the picture, because frankly I think he's taken a few bad angles in the first couple of games of his career. Now those type of lapses (expected of a rookie) have not cost us, but I dread they will force us to bring Collins into the box. I do not want that to happen, and frankly sooner or later we will get burned if Burnett doesn't tackle the guy when he gets a chance. I will admit though, for a rookie Burnett has not had any glaring lapses, which I think is pretty much the only thing you can ask of him seeing as he is a 21 year old rookie.
Is it just me, or does Barnett seem a half-step too slow? A couple of times today I saw him chasing and I expected him to catch-up and stop the play for a few yard gains. Well he did not, and the opposing player seemed to run past him. McGinn pointed out that Barnett seemed a step slow in TC this year compared to the past, and while I did not notice in pre-season I seem to be seeing it in the regular season.
I was honestly concerned (not overly worried, though) that Aaron struggled the first half. It was not just his accuracy throwing on some tough passes wehre he could not really get set, but even throwing to the WR behind the line of scrimmage Aaron threw the ball short. That's not like him.
But his play in the second half was outstanding. 11 for 13 is a great stat line, but his throws on the run were what impressed me: tight and accurate. He made some tough throws look so, so easy.
I would like to point out one thought I've had a few times since the game ended: Aaron's play seemed to improve quite a bit after Bulaga came into the game for Cliffy. I'm not sure if that is coincidence, or indicative of something.
