The problem is, though, how soon can he be in a position to contribute?

RB has to be the easiest position to pick up, scheme wise. Also, Aaron could just tell him (go left, moron).

I disagree with that. Unless you want Rodgers to get decapitated because the RB missed their protection. There is a reason there are hardly any 3 down backs in the league, they just can't be good at every phase of it. I think having BJ as the starter will negatively affect our 3rd downs because he has always done a good job at seeing the pressure and adjusting as needed.

This is a blow to the Packers because Grant was a key contributor to what we do overall in the offense (though his pass protection was invincible this past game).

The Packers shouldn't rush to get anyone. Let Brandon Jackson start against the Bills, then decide from there what you need to find. I'm glad we have an opponent such as the Bills where we can test something like this.

Yeah, he looks good, but Wayne State is in the same D2 conference that my university (University of Mary) is, and I'm not so sure I believe that he is ready to step from this level to a professional level, esp that of a team that has such high expectations as the Packers.

If it helps at all.. find footage of his preseason games at this level.. albeit some don't value preseason ball.

Well he certainly does have a nifty hand-shake. Honestly though, I do like that he seems to be very shifty and fast, which is something that we could definitely use.

The more I think about it, the better I feel. Manning has been able to dominate for years without a solid running game to help him out, and we can do the same. We have an pro-bowl quarterback, and an outstanding receiving corp. Like Lombardi said, "Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence."

We overcame injuries in 1996, and we can do the same in 2010

"IronMan" wrote:

Yep. If they can't overcome this injury, then they were never a Super Bowl team with Ryan Grant.

You know, I think this isn't a kill shot, but the Packers are limping a little bit. Someone needs to step up.

Maybe this means more screen plays that are successful? Normally, on 3rd down, it was a given on that formation it was a screen. I don't think it's a given anymore, which could make it more successful?

True......if they saw Jackson come in, they could figure out what was probably coming. Now that he's "the guy" they won't know what to expect.

Trom - Agreed about RB being the easiest position to pick up, scheme wise.

However, a RB cannot be a moron. A moron has an IQ ranging from 51-70. A RB has a minimum IQ requirement in the high 70s. Realistically though, 85+ would be ideal.

dfosterf (3m) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (55m) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (1h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (1h) : Thank you
wpr (1h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (1h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (1h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (1h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (2h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (2h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (2h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (3h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (3h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (3h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (20h) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (20h) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (20h) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : TD but another failed 2 pt conversion!
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Ravens still alive, but barely
