So, using a starter as a backup? I don't like that idea. I think Harrell is Pickett's backup.

I have forgotten what Shields screwed up as a returner.

The kid is lightning-fast...

Seriously, can someone refresh my memory?

He went to the Troy Williamson school of football catching.

So really, next to Tramon on PRs, who do we have to put out there?

"dfosterf" wrote:

We might put Jordy out there. He's not flashy but he won't muff a punt/kickoff plus if he gets hurt we still have a good 1-2-3 at WR.

Honestly though I think we might be grooming Shields for the spot. As far as I remember he returned kicks/punts regularly in the past (I could be wrong) so his muff problems could have a lot do with TC anxiety. Maybe now that he's officially on the roster he won't be so nervous.

Why? It makes a lot of sense. If Raji goes down Pickett is the easy choice to replace him. The only reason Pickett isn't starting at NT is because we have Raji. It also puts better players on the field at the same time.

If we lost two WR's to injury I wonder if we would try to make Finley an eligible receiver. That way we keep 1-2 WR on the field, Finley as our 3 and one of the 3 remaining TE's can step in.

The DL rotates a lot... and they don't have a NT in the 2 DL sets.

If Raji goes down or needs a breather, Pickett most likely will be playing NT, and you know it. So yes Pickett is the back-up.

I think Neal is the first back-up at both DE spots.

Personally I think I might like it more if Pickett was the starting NT as he makes less mistakes and Neal was the starting DE because he seems to fit the position better than everyone else.

But the way the coaches seem to want it is... Raji starting NT and Pickett starting DE. And they probably know more than us....

It doesn't make perfect sense because Harrell is not reliable!

You do not have a starter as a backup for another starter. Unless one of the starters is not a regular starter in the most commonly used package.

Well it seems the coaches disagree with you on both OL and DL.

Since you don't think Pickett is the back-up NT then who do you think is the back-up NT?

Neal? Harrell? Wilson?

I don't know if they agree or disagree, I'm thinking they have a few more moves up their sleeves as per just about every year.

I have a hard time believing we're going to use only two RB's and one of them is our primary KR and our 2nd starting CB is our primary PR.

Mike Neal was mentioned in here that he is the top backup to Pickett, which makes more sense to me than using Harrell.

Sorry I am mistaken. So do you think Pickett is currently the back-up NT or not?

Well let's see... when Clifton has gone down in the past who has filled in? The starting LG Colledge.

When Spitz was starting and Wells when down who moved over to C? Spitz...

Kuhn can also be RB. Also they're most likely have Starks come in if the don't get another 3rd RB.

Pickett has to be the backup NT. He's the only player with experience left in that particular position. You DO remember who started at NT last year, don't you?

Starting D-Line
Jenkins, Raji, Pickett

Should Raji go down...
Jenkins, Pickett, Harrell/Neal
Danreb Victorio A Believer of Greg Jennings

Holy shit dude, I'm not saying it doesn't happen! I am saying I am not fond of the idea!

I don't think we're set or that I know of what's going on with the RB's and KR and PR ... I'm sure theres far more than I fathom.
