24 teams have waiting lists
11 have more than 10,000
7 have more than 50,000
3 have more than 80,000
Baltimore caps theirs at 3,000

A baby put on the Packer list when they are born would get tickets at aprox age 64. Because of low turnover.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Wait.. the Vikings didn't sell out their playoff game? Eh? Were you at that game? I was there and I can tell you that place was full (and officially sold out). And LOUD. Louder than any of the games I was at last season (when they were actually successful).

But hey.. keep slurping on that juice you guys suck on.

How many other fan-bases have a waiting list though? Because, every season ticket can be passed on to family/friend, correct?

I'm not asking to make a point here, asking because I really don't know. To my knowledge, other teams have the same thing, meaning season tickets can be passed on to whomever they chose. Yet, I don't think many other teams have a list as the Packers.

I don't know about the waiting lists anywhere else.. I only know of the Packers' waiting list. And only because fans toot about the 'greatness' of their fandom from that one trumpet. I honestly don't think the Packers org. allows the passing down of the tickets because of the list.. but that doesn't stop people from passing them down and just keeping them in their names.

Did the game really sell out, or did some company buy the unsold tickets to avoid a blackout? Hair splitting? Sure, but your "officially" illustrates my point. The Vikings struggle to sell out their games, without Favre, and Lambeau field could be sold out 6 times over, without Favre. That is why they are great fans, because it shows that they are not bandwagoners. Like Viking fans.

Last year the Vikings were selling season tickets with the guarantee of the same seats for the playoffs in '09. To try and get people to buy them. Offering special deals just to get their tickets sold.

Again, I reiterate my point.. Lambeau has scalpers outside selling tickets (and when game time starts, they start giving them away) just like any other team. Sounds like some great fans..

The people that go to Vikings games aren't all fans. A majority are to be sure.. but then you have the 'bandwagoners' (aren't fans) that go for a wide array of reasons. To lump them as 'Viking fans' is in poor taste. But whatever gets your jollies off.

And I didn't even touch on the Metrodump issue.. It's easy to be a fan of a team with a long and storied history, or is a dynasty, or has a real football stadium. So not only do Packer fans have the luxury of pointing to their teams' history and the dynasty years of Lombardi.. But they also have the luxury of saying their team plays in a classic football stadium. This is like listening to the spoiled rich kid talk about how great of a child he is because he has the best car on the block, his daddy owns the biggest corporation in town and has a $10,000 bedroom.

Yeah. You guys are great fans.. 😛

Formo, I'm sorry, now I feel bad that we have such a more awesome team and history than the Vikings. It's obvious what you're feeling and its okay.

It is, it's okay. You can come over to the respectable side and root for the Packers. 😉

Whoa. I've now officially heard it all.

Our team has gone from the ultimate working class team where the people own the team, to the spoiled rich brat with the nicest car on the block and the $10k bedroom.

OK, next Packers board meeting, I'll bring up giving you guys one of our Lombardi trophies so show how generous we are and how much we care about the little people. Heck, we'll get another one this year anyways.

This post is not meant to dog you out or ridicule you, but to show evidence of the Viks playoff sell outs

sold out in 2009?

The Minnesota Vikings avoided an embarrassing television blackout by selling out the Metrodome for tomorrow's playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, as of 11:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, there were a number of good tickets still available for the game.

Seats in many sections are still up for sale on ticketmaster.com, including a pair of tickets on the 50-yard line and a block of ten (!) seats in the lowel level.

Then it took 2 weeks left before the Dallas playoff game to sell out

Jan 4th official playoff is a sell out

DEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Minnesota Vikings NFC Divisional Playoff game on January 17 is officially sold out. Vikings VP of Sales and Chief Marketing Officer Steve LaCroix confirmed the sellout Monday.
