Wait.. the Vikings didn't sell out their playoff game? Eh? Were you at that game? I was there and I can tell you that place was full (and officially sold out). And LOUD. Louder than any of the games I was at last season (when they were actually successful).

But hey.. keep slurping on that juice you guys suck on.

How many other fan-bases have a waiting list though? Because, every season ticket can be passed on to family/friend, correct?

I'm not asking to make a point here, asking because I really don't know. To my knowledge, other teams have the same thing, meaning season tickets can be passed on to whomever they chose. Yet, I don't think many other teams have a list as the Packers.

I honestly don't think the Packers org. allows the passing down of the tickets because of the list.. but that doesn't stop people from passing them down and just keeping them in their names.

It takes a REAL fan to . . . sport the colors of Gay Pride Week . . . [with] enthusiasm

"Rockmolder" wrote:

Why does it take courage for you to do this, my ever-so-flamboyant friend?

"Formo" wrote:

When that's something one doesn't stand for, nor cares to ever stand for, it's not something that comes naturally.

Certainly takes more 'courage' (I think that's the wrong word for it.. but I digress) than to wear green and yellow.

"Nonstopdrivel" wrote:

I disagree. I wear purple. It's hardly a gay thing anymore. Yellow and green, however, is just a horrible color combination outside of Packers fan gear.

"Formo" wrote:

Well, it really isn't seen as a gay thing, unless you are marching during Gay Pride week. Or unless you have some ignorant Packer fan that likes to use the color of the Vikings jerseys as a way to 'insult' a Viking fan.

Could be. I've obviously never looked into it, just stuff I've heard from fans when I lived in WI.

Transferring of Packers Season Tickets
Season tickets can be transferred to the below qualifying heirs and transferees upon the season ticket holder's notarized authorization on our official transfer form.

Transfers are processed at the completion of the football season up to June 1. Transfer requests made after June 1 will be retained on file for processing the following year. Should you wish to transfer your tickets upon death, a completed transfer form can be left with your will to be presented after your demise. To obtain a copy of the transfer form, please contact the ticket office.

We will honor a request for transfer as follows:

* a) Upon death of ticket holder
o 1) To surviving spouse; or if no spouse, the surviving children of a deceased ticket holder without authorization. (If children do not agree - no transfer.)
o 2) If direction by deceased under will or specific writing to family devisees defined in (b) but not to devisees who are not defined in (b), even with direction.
* b) To family, defined as, spouse and "blood" relatives who are not more than first cousins, on direction of ticket holder in writing during his or her life-time. (Excludes, for example, transfer to friends.)
* c) Transfer of business-owned tickets to primary owners or officers of the business by written direction and acquiescence of other primary owners (if any).
o 1) On voluntary dissolution to owners of closely held corporations with corporate resolution established by affidavit or documentation.
o 2) On involuntary dissolution, tickets revert to the Green Bay Packers. (Trustees or Receivers to have no claim of right.)
* d) Upon divorce or separation, we will honor a stipulation authorizing retention or transfer of tickets to one or both of the parties. Without stipulation or agreement, the tickets shall revert to the Packers who shall have the right to divide the tickets between the parties.
* e) The Packers remain committed to the many fans on the Season Ticket Waiting List. For this reason, the Packers strictly prohibit any transfer of season tickets except in the limited circumstances outlined above. Any unauthorized transfer of season tickets, or any attempt to circumvent the Official Policy on Transfer of Packers Season Tickets, will result in a violation of the Season Ticket Holder Policy, which may result in the revocation of season tickets and season ticket holder privileges.

Note: When tickets are transferred between family members (or other parties authorized by the Green Bay Packers), the user fee is not charged to the transferee and therefore no direct reimbursement is made to the transferor. The season ticket user fee will be reimbursed only when tickets are relinquished to or revoked by the Green Bay Packers and thereafter purchased by the next person(s) on the Season Ticket Waiting List.

Did the game really sell out, or did some company buy the unsold tickets to avoid a blackout? Hair splitting? Sure, but your "officially" illustrates my point. The Vikings struggle to sell out their games, without Favre, and Lambeau field could be sold out 6 times over, without Favre. That is why they are great fans, because it shows that they are not bandwagoners. Like Viking fans.

Last year the Vikings were selling season tickets with the guarantee of the same seats for the playoffs in '09. To try and get people to buy them. Offering special deals just to get their tickets sold.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
