If you discount Afghanistan and Iraq (and who knows where that money is going) then, yes, that's true. At least it was in 2008.

I think I once read that Israel gets more in foreign aid from us than any other nation. Is that true?

What do you mean here? Do you mean they are #1 when it comes to whom we give money to? If that's what you mean, then you are correct.

If you mean they get more from us than from any other country, I don't know the answer to that.

Ah, the irony. We give billions of dollars every year to a nation that is self-consciously destabilizing the situation in the Middle East. Who are we trying to fool anyway?

There are not very many subjects that you are foolish about. Unfortunately, this is the one that you have absolutely no clue about, yet apply your given formulae to...imo

You will not like a world that got to the elimination of Israel... Plus the simple morality issues are beyond my very cynical perspective to even consider absorbing.

You need to re-visit the morality of world-politic and your own philosophical proclivities. You might find that when you examine the alternatives, your position is lacking merit.

You are talking about a people that have about 6 million and lost about 6 million without a capacity to do anything about it. They got about a hundred nukes and will defend themselves against this most existential threat. If anyone blames them for doing so, you truly are a fool for not recognizing from whence these people came and the world they live in...Not you, Non-- a generalized howl to just how bad this one is gonna be...

The Israelis are going to attempt to do what this president lacks the will to do. They are not qualified to do so, we are...just barely...and the results are going to be incredibly awful unless the Israelis get incredibly lucky.

Dfosterf - Nobody's arguing the 6 million. If I read my history books correctly, the Germans killed them and it was mostly the Americans who discovered and liberated the camps.

So, why do we get the bill? Why are we still paying for Germany's misdeeds today? Shouldn't Germany be paying Israel, not us?

That's my beef. I want my tax money to go to Americans, not everyone else in the world.

I don't care where you think our money should go. I care about an Iran that has vowed to wipe a country off this earth and seems to be driving to that point when the country in question is a serious nuclear power and believes what the threatening country is saying.

Alright. Every country on Earth that has a beef with another nation, we should get involved, right?

That's exactly what the Founding Fathers wanted us to avoid.

That's fine. I left DOD 10 days ago. I quit my little consultant job.

Israel will attack Iran this winter or spring, unless Iran goes first, by my best estimate.

The entire world will change as a result...again, by my best estimate.

This is common knowledge, amongst everyone. Seriously.

The founding fathers did not envision a nuclear exchange. Apparently, you are incapable of it as well. I don't know if I am either, but I see it upon my immediate horizon. I do not know if Iran has 'em, or will have 'em, I suspect so, it will definitely suck if they do and use 'em... this much I do know.

We would not be alive right now if everyone here stuck to their philosophical axioms....the Soviets would have long ago cleaned us off the political (and physical) table. I know most do not think so... a simple thank you shall suffice, lol.

...And oh, by the way...me and my buddies usually figure out REAL QUICK that we don't like some folk pushing other folk around... We usually are are impressed enough about THAT to start actually dying for it, amongst ourselves... I think I can speak for all of us when I say that money isn't real big on our list of priorities...

Friggen puleeze. Go see Israel, as an outstanding example. I saw it twice. Both times those Jews shot at my personal ass, came reasonably close to killing me, yet I support them with no reservations, what dog do you have in any of these the fights, I must ask...
