Some of you may remember when I did a brunch for Rourke and the Kats the day after their commitment ceremony.

Well, I'm at it again. This time, I'm doing a sort of fusion tapas celebration for a neighbor who is going to have all of her family home. Thought some of you might like to see the draft menu. As always, comments welcome.

Tapas Preliminares

Gazpacho
Roma tomato halves, stuffed with a salad of diced bell pepper, celery, cucumber, carrot, and scallion marinated overnight in a jalapeno tomato sauce.

Boccadillo petits
Thin slices of mild Manchego, Serrano ham, served with baby lettuce and a spicy aoili on fingers of toasted bagette.

Olives Espana
Arbequina and Gordal olives, served with Marcona almonds and slices of wood-roasted piquillo peppers.

Tapas Primaria a la Parrilla

Verde

Varicolored wedges of thyme-marinated bell peppers

Sliced sweet corn, infused with red pepper, cloves, bay, and marjoram. Served with a grilled scallion.

Shrimp
Two jumbo shrimp and sliced orange, marinated in Patron Citronge and chipotle pepper.

Roja

Medallions of venison
Whitetail loin, with a Rioja reduction and balsamic/strawberry glaze. Served rare.

Chops of lamb
Two petite ribs, marinated with rosemary and mint and grilled over hickory. Served medium rare.

Secreto Iberico de Bellota
Slices of steak from acorn-fed, black-footed Spanish pig, marinated in pimentón, cumin, and garlic. Served medium rare.
