Would you prefer the Packer get in the Playoffs this year and take their chances, depleted as we are?

Or would you prefer a great draft, to go with the our talent and the injured players getting healthy, which would mean a poor record this year?

Personally, I prefer the great draft as I believe if gives us a better chance of winning the SB in the long run, especially with Ted Thompson as GM.

When you play, you play to win.

whether you play NFL, College, or electric makes no difference. You can get great players in the draft with maneuvering.

I would love a superbowl how long ago till we won one or were even in a superbowl, i could see why you may want good drafts but not all top 10 picks are great are they? Look at Ryan Leaf

Me.. I like to play each year for what it is.. win as many freaking games as possible. I never like to play the futures game, unless it is the stock market. 😉

There are two many variables in next year.. or the future.. if we wound up with a #5 slot in the draft or so.. it means we are just shelling out that much more for a player with unknown pro capabilities. Add to it, we need Olineman.. blue chip tackles go high, not blue chip guards.

That was the hard part of swallowing last years defeat.. we were so close and came out listless in the CG.

If we were 3-12 going into the final week.. I would still expect them to win the game. Never lie down..

Point taken, however I stated the choice IS/WOULD IN FACT RESULT in a great draft.

All teams play to win, but they don't all win.

Don't take anything personally, I'm playing devil's advocate to provolk some though.

Edit: clarified first statement

I have had enough drafts. I wish we wouldnt even have a draft!! Because maybe then Ted Thompson would go out and spend some money.

High picks surely don't guarantee a great draft by any means.

This team has the horses to win now (granted some of those horses may be a bit lame at the moment). Win now, draft later.

See above, sorry I wasn't clearer.

I don't believe we have the horses, no interior line, DL not good with Jenkins out for the year, Grant has to show he is for real, depth. The next few games will tell starting this weekend.

Yes. I think the last few years have proven that the "best" team doesn't always win the Super Bowl. Get into the playoffs, and anything can happen. The Steelers in '05( 6 seed), and the Giants last year (5 seed) are good examples.
