Well, Jolly did but it was against a rookie who was injured to start the season.

Without doing a study, I would be willing to bet that any team that has draft bias is a loser.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Bishop is taking his case to the media.

"I know what I can do, but I'm not sure they do," he said of the Packers. "I think I'm just caught in a situation where my talents can't flourish here. It's frustrating because I love the guys that we have and everything, but I feel like I can be, and I will be one of the top tier linebackers in the NFL if I get the opportunity."

He said his status as a sixth-round pick has hurt him in trying to beat out a couple of No. 1s in A.J. Hawk and Nick Barnett.

I can understand his frustration. However... Suck it up and use it as motivation young man.

Sorry Desmond, but you were drafted in the 6th round for a reason. YOU ARE SLOW(i mean desmond can not run)

Bishop is a ILB. He just can not run, his 40 time is 4.8 @ best. Hawk has to much quickness, Bishop will never beat out a healthy AJ Hawk.

Bishop did get some playing time last year when Chillar and Barnett were injured. Opposing teams took immediate advantage of Bishops inability to run and Desmond was burned repeatedly in coverage.

So....b/c of Hawks quickness, and the fact that Bishop is so slow, I'd say Hawk will always start over Bishop

Honestly, I'd like to see Bishop start - at least for a few games. I want to see what he can do. Hawk is solid, but he's nothing special. I've already seen enough of him to know he'll never live up to his draft slot.

EJ Henderson is a very good MLB, and he's one of the slowest in the league.

that's fine, as long as you do not mind giving up @ LEAST 14 POINTS TO AN OPPOSING TEAM WHO IS GOING TO isolate Bishop in coverage.

don't know who henderson is playing with or the scheme, but i do no bishop has had a chance to start @ ILB and has been taken advantage of in the passing game, and opposing teams no this.

Hawk for sure.....right now.

As far as 1st rounder bias. Of COURSE that's true. If a team invests several million dollars into a player, he will get more chances to "prove" himself then a late round pick. But sooner or later, if they don't produce, they will be gone. And if a guy makes a BIG case for himself, he can make it. But he has to rise WAY above the 1st rounder he is trying to beat out. Bishop hasn't done that, so far. He has been so-so (in my view)
Donald Driver was what, a 7th rounder? Yet he showed he was MUCH better then alot of guys picked before him. He made the best of his opportunities when he got them. THAT is what it takes.

There is also a starter bias. If a guy has been in a position as a starter for more than a year, they won't yank him for another player unless there is a marked improvement. Tie goes to the incumbent. Right now, Bishop is not even as good. Much less better than Hawk. When he can play against starters and not screw up, he will start.

If they were that Biased, Lee would of been favoured to bump Tramon down in the depth, I don't think that was an option at the time, and still isn't. To be honest, with Harris in the mix I wouldn't even assume Lee locks up the 4th CB spot and look who his immediate competition is (drafting wise).
We are born naked, wet and hungry. Then things get worse.

lol bias talk makes me laugh.

What, you're a 6th rounder? Damn, yes you're awesome, but we have this 1st rounder who needs to start instead of you.

THAT'S THE SECRET TO WINNING GAMES PEOPLE! Just throw in whomever is making the most money and/or was drafted in a higher position! Forget results, production, etc ... that's NONSENSE!
