Kevin (Zero) has stated over and over that the Packers WILL WIN the Superbowl this year. I hope he is right. When the Packers do win The Superbowl This Year... Do not cherish Aaron, Woodson, Greg, the incredible Defense, or even Mike, the coach,

Set up a parade for Ted Thompson and Mark Murphy one day before the Super Bowl Parade

Ted deserves his own parade with Mark.

Just because Ted has been as perfect as a GM could be in his tenure., and Mark made it all come together.
I
t is so easy for Packer Fans to dislike Ted. In fact he is responsible for that because of his personality and public speaking ability.

Ted has the personality of a chief executive officer of an abortion clinic in Kennesaw Georgia He is Stoic, cold, unfeeling, and almost robot like

I feel, and still do that Ted in the best GM in the NFL. Not only is he the best GM in the NFL but he is the most under rated GM in the NFL. Just like it is so tough for a Packer Player to get recognition due to the lack of media representation in a big market city it is tough for Ted to get the recognition he truly deserves.

There is no doubt, from the media, and anyone who really can analyze the NFL that the 2010 Green Bay Packers are a team to be reckoned with.

The fact is... There is only two people to thank for that.

Ted and Mark

That zinger made me laugh out loud.

I am a dedicated Thompson apologist. Mike McCarthy sometimes gets on my nerves, though he is slowly winning me over, but my support of Ted Thompson remains steadfast.

I dont mind Ted's robo-tude

but MM's mastery of coach-speek really annoys me. I've just stopped watching his PCs (unless playoffs are involved)

tempo, tempo, tempo................. :physassult:

Ted has stayed true to what he knows and has built a very solid football team. This team was weak in many areas and old in the others when he got here yet he was able to build a roster and still put a solid team on the field.

I have said this before about how fortunate we really are here. The fruits of the building process are now primed for several years of competitiveness.

When you transition away from the players that were in their prime ten years ago and lose a once in a lifetime QB we could easily be sitting in a position like the Bears with a GM and HC grasping for players and mortgaging the future to win enough games to keep their jobs.

I like Ted's robo approach, nobody gets a read on him. I too believe he is doing a very good job. He has steadily built a strong team, with a solid core for years. Just imagine if he had drafted for need instead of Rodgers. The one part of the core he needs for the future is a Pro Bowl type CB to replace Woodson.

Core players as I see it now and future.

Offense:
Rodgers
Jennings
Filey
Driver
Clifton
Tauscher

Bulaga
Sitton
Lang

Defense:
Raji
Pickett
Jenkins
Matthews
Hawk
Barnett
Woodson
Collins

Neal
Burnnett
Jones

I went from a Ted Thompson hater to a Ted Thompson fan over the course of the last few seasons. He has built a good team. With all due respect though, I don't believe in separate. I believe in together, as in a true team. Let him walk down the parade with the rest of the team. Note I said rest of the team.

Too often the focus is on the QB. I disagree with that. When the Bucs beat the Raiders in that SB and they focused so much on the QB, I about puked. Nothing against him, but there probably could have been literally 20 QBs that year that would have won that game. The D won that game, not the QB.

That's what I'm getting at. Team. Ted Thompson is part of the team. He's of course the primary builder of the team and deserves a hell of a lot of credit. But the team still needs to execute.

I understand where you're coming from. He has been slandered. He has been underappreciated. Well, haven't we all? No matter what personality type you have, someone will hate you.

beast (9m) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (10m) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (10h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (10h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (12h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (13h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (13h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you
wpr (14h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (14h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (14h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (14h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (14h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (15h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (15h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (15h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (15h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (15h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
