Today Mia moved out of ICU and into the Peds ward. The anestesia and seizure medicines are finally wearing off and she is becoming much more alert. Even her right eye, which was being lazy is back to normal. She's able to support her own weight and walk to the bathroom with very little assistance.

The pathology for the tumor is not back yet, so we have yet to see the Oncologist. From what I have gathered from the surgeon, the battle plan will be to get stronger and work on her coordination and fine moter skills and then do the radiation treatments next week. After meeting with the doctors in the next few days, I'm going home to care for my other two and leaving Julie here. We're really happy with the progress she's made today.

That's awesome news, Dakota.

The hardest part for you is over now, I can imagine, but the long road to recovery will only begin for her now. From the way you've been posting over here and the messages you've left us, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll be there for her and that she'll make it back on her feet in no time.

Awesome news that Mia got to go home for a bit, the next week or so will give you all, the family, a break before the next step in the journey begins.
