If the Packers can stay healthy, play pissed (or in other words give great effort every single play) and play smart then I'm sure they can compete with almost any team in the NFL.

Am I sure they can stay healthy? No... that's anybody guess...

As far as giving great effort I'm not sure... I'm sorry but Clifton and Grant seem to go half speed sometimes...

I remember a play against the Vikings last year where the OL made a great hole and Pat Williams was knocked on the ground with a Packers OL on top of him but he was able to reach out for a VERY POOR arm tackle attempt and amazingly some how it work... and on a play where Grant got 3 or 4 yards when he should of had at least 10 yards and most likely would of had about 15... but he wasn't running hard and a very poor arm tackle took him down didn't get the first down and pumped up the Vikings defense with excitement and get the Packers upset with disappointment...

As for smart it seems like the play calling starts to repeat it self sometimes... and two years ago with Grants injury it seemed like every time Grant was in the game it was a running play and you better bet the defense noticed it since the public noticed that as well.

But yes I think they have the pure talent to compete with anyone... just not sure they can stay healthy, give full effort when it's needed and always play smart...

Sure you can say that our DBs have weaknesses, but Woody and Collins are both elite with Woody being borderline Hall of Fame.

which didn't prevent him from getting his ass handed to him by Fitzgerald. and while Woody is godlike, he and Collins can't do it all. just ask Favre, Warner and Roethlinsberger. i am sincerely worried about this aspect of our team. maybe more than anything else.

I don't know. Rich Eisen and Deion Sanders aren't Packer fans, but they commented on Fitzgerald's plays quite a bit. Now Deion might be a little scewed to the CB, but c'mon, he was running right into Woodson 10 yards down the field. Any contact made after 5 yards should be PI. What Fitzgerald did was total BS. With the finishing touch being that on that exact same play, they called roughing the passer in Jenkins, who was also being held.

If we didn't have an offensive line that was basically a turn-style considering both our starting tackles were out at the time, we beat Minnesota at least once last year.

My biggest concern right now is probably our pass rush and secondary depth. Jones is going to have to continue to develop to keep double teams off of Matthews since he's our only legitimate proven sack threat at the moment. With Harris likely starting the year out on the PUP, Williams remaining unsigned, and now Underwood's potential legal troubles, we might potentially be relying heavily on guys like Patrick Lee to hopefully stay healthy and finally contribute to the football team. Woodson can't do it by himself.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. We had a bad OL because of injuries last year. They're both back, and Ted Thompson got us some insurance (and provided for the future) in the draft.

And we share the biggest concern. CM3 is not going to surprise anyone this year. Opposing Os will gameplan to stop him. So we're going to have to generate pressure somewhere else.

This is partly on the players stepping up and partly on Capers being more aggressive. No more rushing 3 guys. Period. The other thing, yes, Jones needs to step up and get some pressure but it would be nice to see more pressure from the middle and occasional pressure from the corners. If Raji could be Corey Williams, we'd have an entirely different defense, one that can hide our deficiencies in DB. By the way, even with Harris out, our DBs were still better than the Giants' DBs that won the SB in '07. The key is pressure.

I feel confident that the passing game will be top 3 in the NFL. I'm fairly confident the running game will be middle of the road and will atleast not be a major hinderance. My real concern comes on defense, namely on how we're going to get pressure on the qb. If we are able to establish a consistent pass rush this team is a contender.

Yeah, I think it was by Micheal Irvin, but I couldn't really hear him with the Dallas star and the balls of every single receiver in the NFL jammed in his mouth.

Boom or bust this year it seems. If no significant injuries (or legal suspensions, given the current state of things) I can see a very big year for the pack..

But, if either two of the above occur, we could be in trouble. For all his draft "stratagery" Ted Thompson has left some key positions precariously thin, and is placing a lot of faith in some pretty untested characters.
