Does anyone ever take the time to look at the situation happening in the American Southwest from the other perspective. It seems to me that we went to war and took those lands away from Mexico. There was no purchase, so essentially the United States stole that land. Now little by little the Latinos are taking it back by outbreeding the whites and by illegal immigration. When they carry signs saying that we owe them, are they really wrong? There has been alot of money made off those lands. My only problem with the immigration thing is that they should all be registered taxpayers with the proper paperwork to become citizens. But I hold more anger against contractors using that labor force illegally than I do people looking for a better life.

I don't know how the US gained the aquisition of the Southwest portion of the country.. I do know is if it was gain via a war.. Maybe the Latinos should have won? I dunno. There's no such thing as a fair fight, so do what you gotta do to win. You lost? Then time to deal with said reprecussions. We don't owe a single thing to the Latinos. I agree with you about the contractors taking advantage of their illegal status, though. They need to crack down on those guys just as much as the illegals themselves.

I actually find it amusing that since the Republican party got their asses handed them in the health care battle, that this has become the new mantra for them to hang their hat. And I'm a Republican, just wishing they could find a few good men to run in elections, and some kind of theme other than I'm rich and I shouldn't have to pay taxes.

It's just one thing after another. You may not live long enough to realize how much a mistake the health care 'reform' is. I don't even look at it as the Republicans hanging their hat on this issue.. As they had control of the presidential seat for 8 years, and I believe the House and Senate for 4.. They had just as much a chance to change the situation then, but didn't. I look at it as they dropped the ball, and Americans voted them out. All's fair. This is more the Tea Party/Conservative mindset that's hanging it's hat on the illegal immigration mantra. To me, even though I'm apart of the Republican party, it's not Repubs vs Dems.. Both are too much the same.

Moreover, when Jefferson made the Louisiana Purchase, the U.S. started the Homestead Act, essentially the mother of all government handouts. Now two centuries later and trillions of dollars of wealth earned on these lands; people who have benefited from the handout are crying like babies about immigration and welfare. It's tough to pick out what's right and wrong anymore, so I'll just keep listening and going with what my gut tells me is right!

It's NOT tough to pick out what's right and wrong.. Sorry pal, but despite your complaints and pissing.. Making money.. Gobs and gobs of money.. Is NOT wrong. And it's no different for a millionaire to be outraged about illegal immigration and welfare than it is for guys like you and me to be outraged about the same thing.

But Formo, I'm not outraged, in fact I could care less; I just find it amusing how the media can get people so riled up, WAG THE FUCKING DOG.

I don't care about the rich, but they piss me off when they whine about welfare and overlook the "gifts" they were given. In my opinion the only type of person that has a say on the welfare issue is the person that started in poverty and built his life into wealth, and even he probably had a little help along the way.

I find it a blessing to live in this country and the cost of it, is my taxes, which I willingly pay. And I loathe those that piss and moan about them, all the while living the luxury that is the United States of America.
