Oh we could mention players like Williamson and Underwood as well.. or the draft card debacle.. two years in a row.. or well I am sure with some thought I could add more.

The Vikings have had there draft day blunders.. I think I shall ponder that thought on the way home.. :evil grin:

While we're at it 93z, I got to admit, the Green Bay Packers usually only draft what is fondly known by you guys as "Packer People". You know, high moral character, Church goin', all around nice guys.

The year is 1974 and in the late rounds of the NFL draft the Green Bay Packers draft a WR out of Portland State.............one Randall Woodfield.

On Woodfield.. at least the Packers had the intelligence to cut him... albeit it took "several" indecent exposure incidents.

Dang guys, the Herschel Walker fiasco. That hurts....that really hurts.

By the way if any of you know the whereabouts of one Mike Lynn, master-mind behind the Walker debacle, let me know.
I would still like to de-nut him, hang him, boil him in oil, then have him drawn and quartered.

I will call your raise, and raise you one Jamal Reynolds............pride of the Packers 2001 1st round (10th overall) draft pick! :thumbright:
(taken before Todd Heap, Drew Brees, Reggie Wayne )

Out of Florida State University, Jamal Reynolds had proclaimed himself "the greatest defensive end the world has ever seen, period." In his senior year, Reynolds won the Lombardi Award and was a finalist for the College Defensive Player of the Year Award. He recorded 12 sacks and 58 tackles during that season.

The Packers were so enamored of him, they traded their first round pick (#17) and QB Matt Hasselbeck to the Seattle Seahawks for the chance to take Reynolds. Jamal Reynolds was Ron Wolf's last first-round draft pick with the Packers, leaving a nasty blemish on Wolf's stellar reputation as the Packers' GM.

After only 3 seasons with the Packers and recording only 14 tackles , Green Bay attempted to trade Reynolds to the Indianapolis Colts, but he failed the physical and the Packers released him 10 days later. The following season, Cleveland picked him up, but he was cut before the season started.

That's exactly what we tried to do, but you can't force a player to stay on your PS. The Bills offered him a roster spot and playing time, obviously he took it.

I kick it again with the 2005 draft for the Vikings.. set with 2 first round picks they select... Williamson and James.. both gave the Vikes 2 career starts...

Then throw in the waste at 3rd and 4th picks.. it has the makeup of one of the worst draft classes ever.

Round	Pick	Name Pos Starts	CG
1	7	Troy Williamson WR 1 49
1	18	Erasmus James DE 1 28
2	49	Marcus Johnson G 1 53
3	80	Dustin Fox DB 0 12
4	112	Ciatrick Fason RB 0 18

I mean Williamson couldn't a damn thing... leading some to believe he was blind. But the boy sure could run... was Al running your 05' draft? ;)
