I'm just throwing this out there for "outside the box" discussion.
Since Thompson has built a pretty nice stable of young players through the draft, this team doesn't need to get any younger by drafting more young inexperienced players.
Ted should trade our entire draft to try to pick up 3 dominant experienced NFL ready players.
I would look for an offensive lineman, a good pass rusher to compliment Kampman and a very good middle linebacker.
I don't know if it could even work, but I just don't see any point in getting even younger at this point.

I actually am for a version of this, but not a drastic one like you've suggested here.
I think we need to move at least one high pick for a veteran impact player such as a pass rusher. I would say a 2nd rounder as I have a hunch our first rounder is probably going to be pretty reasonable this year.
I would deal a 2nd for Tony G. I think Carl Peterson would have to take that right now. He knows Tony G doesn't want to be around much longer and I think he'll deal Tony G for a 2nd.
I do believe you can get impact players in the draft and I think the first round is the obvious spot for that. I like how Thompson has drafted for the future with Aaron Rodgers being a future pick and I suposse Justin Harrell too. Right now it looks like he's one for two on those and Hawk was an impact right away.
I think you need to go for the impact player instead of the project this off season
I would use my 1st round pick on a pass rusher or a game changing back like Knowshon Moreno or Chris Wells.
Then I would use my other 2nd received from the Jets and maybe a future pick to move up into the draft and get an offensive lineman or a pass rusher pending what we did with the first pick.
I would also spend more money in free agency this year by bringing in veteran talent and for sure extending our own players.
It's a good year to need a defensive lineman as Julius Peppers will probably be on the market this year I think for a trade and Albert Haynesworth is all but certain to test the market.
It's early, but this is always fun stuff to talk about.
Knowing Thompson though, we won't have much to discuss until April.
