Someone please name a high draft pick, that has had this many serious health problems this early, that still ended up doing well for the team. I can think of a lot (in all sports) that didn't. Please...point out one....I need hope. Darn facts and history getting in the way.

There was someone on the Packers, RaiderPride mentioned it awhile back.

Is Raiderpride the one that mentioned the Gravedigger. If so, doesn't count since he wasn't a high draft pick. One of my concerns is that high draft picks are not incented to push themselves since they already have their money. Again, please use high drafts as an example. Otherwise, I am 99.9% Harrell is a bust. I like Ted Thompson a lot, but this one was bad.

That's really not all that fair - by all accounts Harrell has been busting his ass to get healthy. I can see calling the pick a bust because they should have had some indication that dude's back was so bad, but just saying dude's lazy because he got paid, without any real indication that's true, that's unfair. My opinion.

Please, let's talk facts. I want to believe the stories. Just like the stories of how Carroll had turned it around, of how Randy Wirght is the answer, blah blah. The fact is I cannot find a high draft pick in any sport with these sort of health problems for 2 years straight where it worked out. I never said he as lazy. PLease leave OPINIONS out of it. Name me a guy that braks my rule....please.

Didn't Columbo for the Bears have all kinds of health problems and then go on to the Cowboys to have a decent career?

AAAHHHHHH....yes...good example. Whew. Thank you. Good fact that proves my theory wrong. Well, the odds are against Harrell but I won't feel like a dope for hoping. Thanks again!

The Red Sox are in first place, the Yankees are in last, and the rest of the league opens today. It's a glorious day.
PACKERS PIPELINE
Let's be honest, there's not a whole lot going on. I did, however, run into someone this weekend that many of you have been asking about:

Justin Harrell.

Have to say, he looks really good and very happy.

Harrell said he is weighing about 305 pounds, did not have further back surgery in the off-season, and has been feeling really good so far this off-season.

That being said, even Harrell acknowledged that none of this really means anything, that the only things that matters is can he stay healthy for more than 10 days once the pads are put on.

I hope it happens for at least one season. Harrell's young and has made some mistakes, but he's a good kid and I'm rooting for him.

He's got to catch a break one of these days.

Big news, in at least one small way...because it is an inquiry / encounter / chance meeting / whatever of Justin himself, not MM or TT- mostly because I personally and honestly felt severely bullshat last time either of those two told me about him last year, so was waiting for the day when we heard from him-not them- this year.

It is the FIRST TIME any of these sports journalists have talked DIRECTLY to him in a LONG, LONG time. I know there isn't much of substance, but at least I know the kid is- alive, for example (ok-sarcasm).

C'mon Justin, we are all pullin' for ya ! We would ALL like to catch a break in the Justin Harrell sweepstakes! (especially since we have already paid out--OK, more sarcasm) :thumbleft:

If I had to guess between which would come first, Harrell playing 10+ games in a season, or the zombie plague, I'd bet on the latter. Not holding my breath.

If he plays a full season, great. But nobody get your hopes up.

Nothing personal against Justin, but my hopes of him making an impact, positively on the Packers defense. Well, I have him right there with Crosby meeting my expectations of a kicker in the FG percentage. I'm doomed on both accounts I fear.
