i thank God i DO have children. children who will understand the value of an honest hard days work. who will strive to make this country what it once was. who won't ever have to worry about taking a handout from anyone - least of all the gov't. there is hope for the future in the children of today.

sure the future is scary but not because of some healthcare plan - i'm worried about my kids living thru f'in high school (hell even junior high) without getting hooked on crack, pot, alcohol, huffing, etc...

dictator obama won't be in office forever & many of his 'horrible, idiotic' ideas can & will be changed.

I don't think anyone in this thread is blaming "the government" as some nebulous entity. I think we've all laid the blame for the problems we face at the feet of the American public. A country gets the government it deserves.

so why are we arguing then? cuz some of YOU think you can come up with a better plan? that will like totally work cuz you figured it out on your lil calculator at homey home?? oops - sorry my smartass came out there.

who isn't blaming the gov't in this thread? i don't think very many people have really taken responsibility for the state the country is in. at least i haven't seen it from very many here. all i see is 'obama's a communist, we're gonna be the next russia, & i have this great plan'!! greed begets greed - be in politicians, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, or joe q public. we're a bunch of greedy sob's who are finally getting what we deserve!!

i wish i grew up in the 50's when my parents did. what a magical time.

Then what are YOU doing? I have the right to bitch about the direction of our country/politicans because I am engaged and caucus as much as I possibly can.. and much to my vote's dismay, I'm stuck with the group we have in St. Paul/Washington D.C. Hell yeah I can bitch.

At least I offered a constructive alternative to Obama-care. That's more than most people can say.

"4PackGirl" wrote:

certainly NOT arguing with you, formo. not sure why you think i said nobody has a right to discuss it. i'm just saying that until each of us takes responsibility for our own actions, nothing will change. complaining about the politicians & the greed of THEM while completely ignoring our OWN greed isn't very constructive.

Look at how they have screwed over Medicare. Or anything ELSE they touch. They are just like "King Midus"....except everything they touch turns to SHIT.

Wait, didn't everything he touch turn to gold? =P
Formo....i said it was like King Midus, EXCEPT!
And in reguards to what some have written,
I might not have a better idea about what to do with healthcare, but that doesn't automatically mean that they should just do what they are doing, because they don't have any "better" idea right now.
How about, just leave it alone? "Change" for sake of "change" doesn't necessarily mean BETTER.
WHO is gonna pay for it????
That thought never stops them though, does it?, our pockets have an endless amount of money in them, don't they??? (They DON'T!?!?)
If you have a serious health problem, legally a hospital can't turn you away. Which means there IS healtcare for all. Give our "free passes" for it, and anyone with a runny nose will be running to the doctor. Which means REAL health problems will have to wait, while the doctors are handing out kleenex.
Wait and see........i bet i am right.

Oh geez.....the "spelling Police" strikes again.
I'll tell you what, Non.
Since i had my open heart surgery last year, i have been frustrated beyond words. I have lost ALOT of my ability to spell properly, and to be able to put what i am thinking into words. Something that came quite easily too me before that.
I guess if all anyone can find fault with is my spelling instead of the obvious thought behind it, i must be doing ok.
I can live with that. (Not that i have any other choice, as i'm sure i will spell plenty of other things wrong and will be corrected for it)

Our dictator president does what HE wants, reguardless of what most Americans want.

So trumping up WMD charges without being able to find a single shredder of evidence.. and then taking our country to war isn't forcing his will and thoughts upon the people?

This war has cost us the reform bill plus... 9 billion a month to wage it.. yet no one uttered that Bush was a communist or dictator.

Yes a hospital has to admit you into care in an emergency.. but how about the preventive care and normal checkups that many are foregoing because they can't afford it?

But since it is a domestic issue for the overall betterment of the American people.. we have anarchy on our hands over a bill that went through the channels of the elected government.. our individual representatives.

Not trying to be argumentative.. just want to explore the other side of thoughts...

What does this mean? See, I think with this one sentence you have pretty much summed up the tea bagger philosophy. But my good friend, how can we be children of God, and believe in that? Because you a have been given the gifts of intelligence and freedom, you owe something back. So quit bitching, pay your taxes, and enjoy your life. You've been outvoted by those lower on totem poll than you.

Then, you need to buy insurance.
As far as what Bush did, what does that have to do with healthcare? The healthcare issue takes away some more of our freedoms.
Every president does things with the military that probably half of the people here don't agree with. There were plenty of people during world war 2 that didn't want us involved in THAT war either. They said "Why get into it? Hitler isn't our concern."
Fact is, the majority of Americans don't want the government running our healthcare. That's pretty obvious. Yet they are doing it against our wishes. The government runs the military. NOT our healthcare. (At least they didn't....until now)
